I personally think it's a good move by Honda to be more civic-minded of the environment, it's a step in the right direction, and c'mon the car doesn't look half tht bad, it'll look kinda funky on the racing grid i think.
BMW's juz fooling da world with their earlier season pace or da other teams r holding bck a little, there is no way on Earth they can be .2 of a second faster than Ferrari.
They've got a good engine, i'll give em that, it's gots da highest revs in F1 but they'll just fail to deliver the way i c it.
Da cars look bloody beautiful though, Mc'Laren's lookin kinda hot but what's wif da twin haircut, c'mon guys, serious lack of personality, it's gonna b difficult to differentiate btw Ferrari and Spyker, similar color scheme, Renault's gone kinda dowdy, lots more white and a splash of orange courtesy of ING, da rest is pretty much same old same old i think
it's gonna make for a cracking season i think 07, lots of pretenders to da crown, but i know where's it's heading, bck to Brazil wif Felipe Massa, it's high time he took it and he's got da speed to do it as evident towards da end of last season
So lets all sit bck n njoy it folks, can't wait for the season to begin.

BMW showed that last season when they got the 3rd place at Monza. it's not impossible. And did you know that Intel built them the 3rd most powerful computer in the world for the to use? They also still have the Sauber's very powerful and modern wind tunnel. Old team + more money, they are supposed to be much better this season

Ferrari = Marlboro Red, Spyker = Holland Orange. Not teh same.
*
3rd place at Monza, 1 decent result out of 19 races, c'mon mate? u can't honestly use tht as a yardstick, doesn't wash. N yeah they've got a supercomputer, tht'll help em tabulate test runs faster and simulate differences to test the car set-up on but when all's said and done, it's the drivers that make it happen on the track and does money make a team? reckon we should ask McLaren that

and Yes i am aware of the difference in color, but it is hard to spot come a GP, even Martin Brundle and James Allen mixed it up a coupla of times last season

Well u've got a point mate, i'll give u tht, Renault were the no-hoper's bck in 04 but they've managed to pull through and add 2 WC to their resume, the way i c it da key word for BMW here is gonna be CONSISTENCY
Let's c if they've got it in em to be pretenders to the crown

I guess what you said is true afterall. Ferrari may be a great team but being too arrogant and forgot about their tires are just plain untolerable. Enough said, it cost  Schumi a chance to reign over the F1 world. Well, maybe to the extent that it promote competition as people wanna see during 05.
*
They didn't forget their tyres mate, the tyres couldn't last the race distance, the wear of the Bridgestone's were much higher as opposed to the Michelin's, n Bridgestone nvr did have a hybrid tyre for the wet/dry, U gotta understand that season only 4 teams were on Bridgestone and out of that onli Ferrari was a top team, the rest we mid-tables and down-theres, so they didn't have the testing luxury of Michelin either, it was more of an issue with Bridgestone as opposed to Ferrari.
Schumi a chance to reign over the F1 world? u gotta b kiddin me, he does reign over the F1 world, he's rewritten every record in F1 history save for most pole starts. Alonso's got a long way to go before he can even be mentioned in da same breath as Schumi
N Yes, we did see competition tht yr, didn't we? juz like everybody wanted instead of a scarlet Ferrari at the front every time, Ferrari stagnated and it was a wake up to em to buck up n so they did, it's gonna be a cracker of a 07 season n it's goin da away of the RED tide.
Watch n c !!!!!!!

For some reason, I disagree with the Schumacher 'rewritten the whole F1 record' thing. Did he get the most pole? yes he did, but it took him over 1/5th of the races that he entered to get that. Senna meanwhile scored pole every 0.4 races. And points? hell, that's not significant. Considering the races he entered, and the points given out was different from the times of James Hunt/Jackie Stewart/Juan Manual Fangio, it's just not fair. Juan Manual started F1 at fricking 40++ for crying out loud. If he was younger, he could have added to the 5 world championship that he has. And during that time, how many points and races were done per season?
Even if you don't feel like it, Alonso is a deserved world champ. Heck, he even held the record of the youngest F1 winner, and double f1 champion, and still can be the youngest to boot. And his 2 championship comes without conterversy or foul play. the same cannot be said to a certain champ that won the '94 and nonchalantly budges Jaques to win the '97 world title. Heck, I wonder when the last time I see Fernando went into another teams garage and threathened to kill another driver....
*
Times evolve mate, if u wanna live in da past, tht's ur beef. i'm not gonna dispute da fact tht Senna, Fangio, Hunt, Stewart, Hill were good drivers, mayb great even but they raced in a different era. I'll bet u this though, none of em showed the tenacity of Schuey, i nvr saw em come off the bck off the grid to finish on the podium. Alonso was spoonfed, he had everythin at his disposal, the team favored him, Briatore liked him better, the car was mighty fine too and the michelin's worked wonders too. N ur contradicting urself aye, ur comparin Schuey to da old time greats, y not Alonso?, do i sense a double standard here?
N yeah Schuey did spice up the F1 world, there are ppl who question his racing style at times, only goes to show the man's human and his win at all costs motto might not sit well wif some, too bad. N i'm guessin u'll nvr see Fernando threaten another driver, he's too chickenshit for it.

He might outshine Kimi  hmm.gif

Tht's a given mate, Kimi's not gonna b able to hold a light nx to Massa n World Champion 2007 is gonna b a Brazilian, not a Finn - Felipe Massa

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Mar 3 2007, 01:49 PM)
When I compared Schummi to the great oldies, it's because that I was refuting you saying he was the greatest driver that broke every record. what you said when you never see them start on the back of the grid and finish high enough? did you really watched them race? How dare you say they don't have the tenacy of a racing driver. If you want tenacy, look at Niki Lauda. He was burnt nearly to death, that a priest was called to say his last rites. But he went on to race again.
What I didn't say was Alonso was the greatest. Heck, I also rate Schumacher higher than Alonso, but what I said was, Alonso don't need to prove to anyone that he is a godd world champ. Chickenshit? whoever can pass schumacher on the outside of 130R full throttle ain't no chicken shit to me. Spoonfed? Was he spoonfed when he was at Minardi? Was it his fault that Giancarlo flopped so sadly last season? And what the difference that make with Schumacher? If you said that Renault spoonfed Fernando, we can say the same with Schummi and Ferrari. He gets the best parts, the best car, and even the best finishing if he wants (remember Austria?). Briatore did the same thing to him at Benneton when he won in 94 and 95, so when Briatore does the same thing to Fernando, you're pissed of? From what I see, you're the one that seeing double standards of thing.
Yes, schumacher might be human, and he did all he did to win, but Senna too did what he needed to do, but the difference was, if he felt he was wrong, in the end he will SAY he's sorry (remember Japan, Senna Mclaren and Prost Ferrari?).

oh yeah, before I forgot. Try looking for the 1983 US GP at long beach. The winner and 2nd place man started from 22 and 23 on the grid. And yet you say they cannot start from the back on the grid to finish in the podium. PAH!
*
Whoaaaaaaaa!!!!!! an overdose of testerone aye, let's save it for the race mate, Niki Lauda, yeah he did good, for a man who almost died to come bck the nx yr and win da WC, says a lot about a man's spirit.
130R full throttle? if Christijan Albers was in a Renault shod on Michelin's with so much better race pace, he'd do it, so it's nothin special i say, ballsy though
U do make valid points though mate, if i'd have 2 say 1 thing, i'd say u knw ur F1, n i'm not a conceited prick enough to not admit tht i've met my match n then some.
wen it comes to Schuey, i can't be objective, it feels like a personal attack so i stand up at all costs, guy's da closest thing i've come to an idol.
So lets call a truce aye n leave da squabbling for da tracks, this is a public forum after all.
Peace out mate, 2 weeks n counting

Tell u wat; i'll give u da benefit of da doubt mate, he's still young, findin his footin in F1 n he's got a good pair of wheels under him this season it seems, let's c if he impresses enough and gets a big drive next season n we'll c if he wins 7 WC's by the time he's in his late 30's, if he doesn't u can eat my shoe, wanna put ur money where u mouth is? smile.gif

JAMES ALLEN'S VERDICT

F1 is, above all, a head game and Raikkonen is stronger in the head than Massa, so I expect him to come out on top.

Whoaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!, tht's a gross overstatement there, i will agree tht Massa's focus can be kinda suspect but there is no way Kimi is stronger in da head than Massa, i think Mr.Allen scored this one wrong, if Massa gets out front there's no one on the grid wif a prayer of catchin him save for Alonso, he's got a fire in the belly n lookin at the grid there's very few driver's this season tht have em, Schuey n Alonso had em by the bucketloads, Kubica's showin glimpses of it, Rosberg at times, gotta keep a look out for Kovaleinen n Hamilton though
All in all my paws r gettin really itchy for some F1 action, 1 month n a week n countin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at Massa...so pissed.
Too much ego in him lah.
Should not have pushed a lot during Q2...I guess his ego/arrogance took over.

Ego !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do u know the definition of the word mate?
The car suffered a gearbox failure, it just lost drive, how is that his fault again? it's da 1st GP of the season, Ferrari of all teams should not suffer a gearbox failure, bloody appalling
16th on the grid, well if he's worth his salt and he can get up there at the start, he's got a chance still, it's good tht Ferrari's speedy though .200 of a second faster than Alonso, let's hope they've got their race pace is similar as well and they've got the fuel to last the duration
I c a Ferrari 1,2, any detractors?
