hmm... about your 'explanaition'. i have a different opinion. the need to check the condition of rear tires has diminished since tyre change was reintroduced last year. In any case only schumacher ever bothered to do that in 2005, and that was using a raised mirror. my guess is that hamilton is simply testing the rear visibility. as not all drivers like the new arrangement, judging by one of the red bull cars reverting to the more traditional arrangement during the test.
