well there's rumours alos that he'll be competing in NASCAR this year.
Hmph. I doubt that he is ever goin to Nascar because his retirement in F1 i think really did put and end to his driving career. Like what the others had said, i think he will just do PR for Ferrari and maybe some Kart racing for fun
Are they really goin to go on the road with those colors on their car? Oh dear Honda, what has gone into their mind. For a second i thought that it was from Toyota since they proclaimed so highly about their environment friendly cars but then Honda?!
Well, BMW still have quick nick and Kubica, which IMO can be quite fast. And last season they were still not using all their full capabilities, only just merging with Sauber. What Sauber lacked was not expertise, as they can produce fast cars, but was the budget for them to make more parts, and with BMW, they have this now. Yes McLaren had a dismall season last year, and Ferrari too the year before. The problem was last season, McLaren lost Adrian Newey, and with the car was designed by Newey, it's hard to upgrade it without his input anymore. we saw in Bahrain that the car was fast during the start of the season, but started going downhill after that. Sometimes, losing a key personell can lead to disadvantageous. Ferrari meanwhile was too cocky with all the wins that in 05, they thought that they can just plunk in any car and it will do. What it forgot what Bridgestone lacks the team and milage to test their tyres, thus leaving them with crappy tyres that cannot last the race distance. BMW and Mario Thiessen worked hard last winter to get the team going, and it's now showing. Massa is not the kind of guy to praise other teams, and yet he said that BMW could be the dark horse. And it's not just massa, many other drivers are saying that BMW has improved much last season.
I guess what you said is true afterall. Ferrari may be a great team but being too arrogant and forgot about their tires are just plain untolerable. Enough said, it cost Schumi a chance to reign over the F1 world. Well, maybe to the extent that it promote competition as people wanna see during 05.
erm.. just wanna ask.. was it Alonso's mistake that he was to into the right side and gave enough room to Heidfield to stay so close, forcing him to let him pass around the corner?
yesterday night i wrote an e-mail to astro to complaint about the F1 commentators they are using and ask them to be replace with Martin Brundle and James Allen
just now astro called me and let me know they will ask their sport section to improve their commentators
i dun think there will be any difference
so guys, to all that are watching F1 through astro, please write an e-mail to complaint as well, hopefully the more people complaint, the more pressure there will be to replace their commentators
Wah.. this will tell them not to mess with F1 fans! Hopefully they will change the commentators soon I plan to email them also
Damn sad wei that commentator, suddenly kena fired
Kimi kept using his right hand (Massa too) to touch something below So difficult to drive like that.
Last season also got this kind of comparisons...IMO both of them have similar driving styles.
Differ car is one thing, setup of the car is another such as camber and steering degrees.
Actually both of them have different driving styles. Alonso tends to use more of the corners than Kimi to gain a similar speed. Kimi on the other hand use to drive at a faster speed thru the corners but then not using much of the corners.. this is why Kimi's car looks as if its not turning much and looks a bit smooth when driving thru corners.
Heh, the McLaren have too much oversteer and understeer (rumour said that a light fell on the front wing the night before the race which make the car undriveable). Try comparing Lewis with Massa instead. Both are faster than Kimi and Fernando that day
WTF?! A light fell on the front wing of the car before the race?! Maybe that answers the oversteer of the McLaren cars.
McLaren will strip Fernando Alonso's MP4-22 McLaren car at its Woking factory this week in a bid to get to the bottom of the Spaniard's relative lack of pace in qualifying and on Sunday at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The reigning double World Champion lacked the pace of his rookie team-mate Lewis Hamilton at the Sakhir circuit, leaving him fifth at the flag.
But according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, it is possible that an incident in the Mercedes-powered team's garage on Friday night literally put a dent in Alonso's podium ambition.
Although he himself played down the possible effect on his car's speed of the incident at the time, it is true that some parts at the front of the single seater had to be replaced on Saturday morning after a lighting gantry fell from the ceiling of the garage.
The publication said only the front wing of Alonso's car was changed but it is now thought that the entire monocoque might need to be scrapped prior to the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Alonso will also be given two of the three days of the upcoming Barcelona test to get to the bottom of the problem. Hamilton will test for only one day, we have learned.
Alonso told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Maybe a mistake was made while re-assembling the car after that mishap. The fact is the car had a strange behaviour from then on."
Well, for me i dont really get a heart-attack or something similar, i admit that my heart pump faster when the team i support is going on offense or on defense.. the start of the race is also very intense.. but what is most important is the chase between the cars, which i like the most, the mistakes they make, the fantastics takeover they do...
This season will be tough for all teams. All teams are very competitive, the proof that Hamilton going up the podium and the BMW Sauber team on the chase all mean that this season no team is to say that they are for sure to clinch the WCC or the WDC.. Lewis maybe..
@linkinstreet - I am not really sure about Renault pulling out from F1 but then i heard a tiny of it when the FIA banned the damper system used by Renault. Is this the main cause of Renault pulling out? Correct me if i am wrong..
SEPANG, Malaysia, April 6 (Reuters) - Safety should be the top priority when Singapore's bid to host Formula One's first night race is considered, Renault and Ferrari team bosses said on Friday.
Singapore is keen to join neighbours Malaysia on the calendar with a proposal to stage a street race under floodlights.
Renault team principal Flavio Briatore said he would back Singapore as long as drivers were safe.
"Really, if the driver is happy and technically it is possible to make sure it is safe for the drivers and the spectators, I am happy to do more races," Briatore told a news conference at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
"Especially if the race is held at night, (the time difference) is perfect for Europe. There would be more publicity and good communication for Formula One."
A decision on Singapore is expected to be made after the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Ferrari team boss Jean Todt said there was room for another street circuit, with Monaco already the glamour highlight of the calendar, though night racing may draw protests from television broadcasters.
"We must make sure safety is the number one item," said Todt. "I was talking with people from TV and there may be some doubts there.
"There is a street race in Monte Carlo with a lot of history. People talk about why we can't have another street race but we need to make sure that it goes in the right direction and that it is a really good race."
Todt dismissed criticism that a Singapore Grand Prix would continue the trend of taking races away from Formula One's traditional stronghold of Europe.
"Formula One is a world-wide event," said Todt. "On one side I like history and most of the races are still in Europe.
"You have places like Malaysia, Turkey, China and Abu Dhabi pushing for better organisation. And it pushes Europe to improve their organisation. It is healthy competition."
Briatore said Europe must raise their standards in accommodating the sport's increasingly influential corporate culture.
"This is the evolution of Formula One. Now corporations are more involved. We need hospitality, hotels near the airport and good service and in some places (in Europe) this is not the case, including Magny-Cours in France.
"Sure, Europe is important but I'm happy to race in different countries."
That incident, why the hell did all the cars move? The race was not started yet (listen to the commentator) I think that's why the mechanic went in to check on the car, he thought it was safe.
Erm... actually he thought that the drivers have sight of him when he ran onto the track... but then he was mistaken
