Williams will give 14-year-old rising Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar a test in its F1 simulator  today after he took two wins and a second place in the first four rounds of the Formula BMW Asia series. Jaafar arrives at the the Williams Toyota factory in Grove this morning.

"The team will run the Sepang race configuration for me as I know the track so well," Jaafar said. "This simulator is so close to reality. It is huge and looks a lot like a flight simulator with a screen that goes all around.  I could not believe how lucky I am to be
supported by Sir Frank and it is my dream to race for Williams."

During the visit Jazeman will be accompanied by his Meritus race engineer and director Firhat Mokhzani and Dato' Kamaruddin the Deputy CEO of Malaysian based AirAsia who are partners of the Williams Toyota team.

Given Jafaar's age the only way they could test him safely would be at the wheel of their simulator.

Turn 2 turn 2 and turn 2
Turn 2 is a left hander, if you see the tires marks, massa is going in parallel with the racing line. Going on the curbs means that massa will loose his grip and risk spinning 2. into mr alfonso car anyway.

1. Why did Alonso feel the need to go further into turn one when they are both approaching turn 2?

2. Had Alonso kept his line and take the inside of turn 2, don't you think Alonso actually stand a chance to stay ahead of Massa? (He was ahead of massa at that point, taking the inside of turn 2 gives him further advantage, and may allow him to take the line into turn 3)

3. Had Alonso been in Massa place, do you think Alonso would slow down and let Massa go?

4. As Hamilton pointed out, Alonso almost collided with him when he was rushing to joint back in track, do you think that move was done with safety in mind for Alonso's part?

5. Do you think then, that both Massa and Alonso are driving unnecessarily dangerously or they are merely just racing?

I'd say they both are top drivers and that's how racing is. Nobody compromise.

Kimi Raikkonen put his Ferrari top of the timesheets on the third day of testing at the Paul Ricard test track in France. His time of 1:28.833s beat surprise second fastest Scott Speed of Toro Rosso by just a couple tenths of a second. The American was in turn just 0.031s quicker than third fastest Heikki Kovalainen in the Renault.


The times were a lot slower than the previous two days of testing as the track changed from the Monaco to the Montreal-style configuration so the teams could test low-downforce setups in preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Robert Kubica, Mark Webber and Toyota test driver Franck Montagny completed the top six although only less than a second separated the top eight. 

The session was relatively problem free for the teams although the odd shower of rain delayed the day's programme. Kimi Raikkonen did suffer electronic problems in the morning, whilst Honda test driver Christian Klien suffered an engine failure on his first lap out having taken over from Rubens Barrichello in the afternoon. Testing resumes tomorrow for the last day of the Paul Ricard test.
