Hi yall,

1. Anyone here driving 208 gti or fiesta ST?
2. Any problems with major components?
3. what is the expected service charges i.e. Higher than civic turbo?
4. RV after 5 years

Would expect manual hot hatches to be trouble free since no dsg issues but correct me if I am wrong thanks

Ford Aftersales Service is expensive.
If you can accept that, then you can purchase Ford.

Roughly how expensive as compared to civic turbo? 1.5 times maybe?

How was the performance and handling? Is it as great as the reviews?

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

The main question is still the reliability of these 2 cars from actual owners.

Btw, I chose these 2 not because they are the fastest out there but I want a fun car to drive while being able to be classy and reliable for normal city driving...

I'm too poor to own a Fiesta ST. Just to be sure, we are talking about the Fiesta ST right? not the regular Fiesta  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Bro you own any Ford yourself? Mind telling any issues with manual? Should be much better than dsg right?

really?

salesgirl told me because they had problems with jpj for the HID, hence they dropped off HID and LED DRL. the one i test drove use halogen as DRL doh.gif

latest batch also expensive, 150k with no rebate. i was offered 138k for 2015 models.

If he's gonna bring a RM115k Neo to a pissing contest, I'll bring a 95hp 1.4l Fiesta just to troll kaw him.  rclxms.gif

I've driven a stock Neo CPS 5MT before and I do love how well it does as a driver's car and you do get a lot of fun for that price. But I've also driven the Fiesta ST....and it is clear as day the difference in performance between both cars.

If the TS is not averse to local cars, modding and burning warranties....I'd say buy a Neo then BOT it, and it'll still be cheaper than a Fiesta ST.

Haha fair point...but don't wanna end up in JPJ compound or have less safety. Just looking for a fun car that does not have a major issues before 100k milage.

Hi @Happyplace

I am curious what was your final decision between the Fiesta ST and Pug 208 GTI??

Quite interested to hear it out.
*
Hi there, finally I went with the Pug..the Ford was just too tight at the back for ppl to sit. I'm looking for a daily car not just weekend car so that was a big factor. Another factor is the suspension is too stiff for the Ford. I find the Pug perfect balance for our not so good roads. I touge occasionally and the Pug is a lot of fun on b roads.

bro how's the reliablity for peugeot GTI? worth to buy 2nd hand for daily use?

As an actual owner myself and my friend who wrote this blog:
https://routehunters.co/2018/06/the-peugeot...-70000km-later/

We have no complaints with regards to the reliability and maintenance cost. Almost all of the faults are known and covered under warranty and not take longer than 1/2 days to fix.

Personally I have only changed the thermostat housing, the two front absorbers and that's it..66k km going strong and almost 5 years. Also note that the warranty is extended until 7 years even if u bought second hand.

Lastly, my friend who wrote the blog above have since then passed 160k km with no major faults reported.
