Coz i know once out of this industry i cant get the same satisfaction & pay in other industry...especially in Msia. shit working culture, shit pay (although currently i can tolerate shit culture but at least the pay is ok).
ps, i still think that this industry only suited for the young/single.

For those who still kicking in oil & gas, stay put and have faith. This is a good time to start to pickup new cert/skills, polish CV nicely, stay active and get involve in some O&G organizations.

MALAYSIA: Following a pre-qualification exercise, SapuraKencana Energy (SKE) has issued a tender for a long-legged jackup to undertake a campaign offshore Peninsular and East Malaysia.
The well-based scope will cover six workovers/sidetracks with a total duration estimated at 95 days, and two exploration wells with combined duration of 60 days, both inclusive of mobilisation and demobilisation. Commencement is tentatively scheduled for early third quarter 2017.

Good thing about oil & gas is the price tag was purely by the company's discretion (which in most case by the owner itself); if you really can meet their end and to make sure their business running. Because at one point i myself couldn't fathom the ridiculuosness of how my boss place the price tag.

go offshore does not really guarantee u a good pay bro.i prefer to stay onshore and getting paid good.not all companies pay handsome offshore allowance.

Exactly. A friend told me his company cut offshore allowance into half.

Perisai further extends delivery of its two newbuild jackups
SINGAPORE/INTERNATIONAL: Perisai Petroleum has agreed with PPL shipyard to further extend the delivery dates of newbuild jackups Perisai Pacific 102 and Perisai Pacific 103.
Delivery dates of both Pacific Class 400 units is now 31 August 2017. The delivery date of both units had been previously deferred to October 2016, and the original delivery date of Perisai Pacific 103 was July 2016.

UMW Naga 2 spuds first well for Ophir
MALAYSIA: Ophir Production partner Octanex updates that jackup UMW Naga 2 has spud on 2 June 2017 Ophir A1, the first of three planned production wells to be drilled and completed on the Ophir field offshore Peninsular Malaysia.
The field is being developed via the three wells, a well head platform and an FPSO. The project is located in water depth of about 70 m (229 ft). The campaign is expected to keep the rig busy until around August. Meanwhile, Vestigo Petroleum still has options on the rig that are likely to be exercised and the unit may return to Vestigo after its work with Ophir.
