I use Borg on Ubuntu. It is very easy to use. First create a repository, and then perform weekly backups, giving each backup a name such as Weekly-xxxxxxxx01. Replace xxxxxxxx with yyyymmdd. 01 is the first backup on that day. Usually there's only one backup on a day.
It is able to deduplicate files (no repetition) during backups, with optional compressing functions. My 300 Gb storage is compressed to about 140 Gb on the backup media. Every thing goes into a directory (the repository). You can choose to encrypt the backups when you run Borg.
During restore time, you don't have to search for your file in the weekly backups. What you see is exactly like what you have on your Windows drives.
If you have any Ubuntu experience, I suggest you boot your PC on Ubuntu stick, and then perform the backup on your Windows drives which are automatically mounted if I am not mistaken.
If you do not have any Linux experience, you may want to try
https://restic.net/ which is similar to Borg and they have native Windows binaries.

What would you recommend for PC Windows 10 OS to use for data backup software?
Sure there are different strategies such as
multiple versions of your computer backups so you can recover to a previous state
on-site multiple HDD
off-site HDD
cloud storage.
I am specifically interested in the backup software to use for the incremental data once you do the bulk of your data. The maintenance if-you-will. weekly, monthly. I've heard Acronis True Image by some and also that it is a job by others. I want to pay for the software once, not a reoccurring license. Recommendations?
This thread deals with Windows 10 PC OS only.
