I already explain my reason for saying that in the same post.
If you don't understand, then let me rephrase that.

If a person has not been to seremban, and he has the time to spare, it might be worth to stop by in seremban to try out their famous kajang satay.
*
king: you can use Personal media manager for converting your movies to psp format. if your psp is connected it can also copy the movie into the correct directory. another nice thing about it is that it checks for updates each time you start it so you can always have the latest version without checking their site. has other nice features as well. cheers!

@RaymondT: is tentative on sunday at KL sentral, will let you know the time once i'm sure

guys as of now firmware3.10 is official. can now be downloaded via network update on your psp. its been confirmed that the GTA exploit used by the 3.03 downgrader has indeed been patched so don't update if you want to be able to use homebrew

Fake card?
Never crossed my mind before.

I've even read before some dude claim that ur stuff gets corrupted becos
u're using a cheap USB cable to transfer data... he recommend investing on a better one. I think that author is full of horse crap. I lost the link to his site.
*
actually it does happen, esp with those cheap retractable usb cables. if you have one of those gadgets that can be charged with a normal usb and use those cheap retractable ones you'll notice that the charging flickers intermittently. long unsheilded usb cables can also cause this if they are near power cables which can cause interference

i just read a news, saying mrdarkalex has make 3.10 decrypted less than 24hrs....
custom 3.10 is available...
*
actually it was team C+D that was able to decrypt the 3.10firmware, but yes we can expect DA to release the 3.10OE soon rclxm9.gif

Thanks for the tip!
Yep, that's right.

there's an easier way, you need pspfiler2.8 for this. this is a snippet from my post in another forum regarding pspfiler's new flash backup option.

QUOTE
i 1st did a backup of flash0 (and flash1 just in case) of my current firmware 3.03OE-B with modded xmb icons and fonts (thanks to Timboman2000 for his Halo Theme Pack) using pspfiler2.8. note that you dont have to be in hacker mode to backup your flash, hacker mode is required only when doing restore

******
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLASH0.IMG AND FLASH1.IMG THAT YOU WILL USE ARE YOUR OWN AND NOT DOWNLOADED FROM SOME UNTRUSTED SOURCE. CREATING THEM IN PSPFILER2.8 IS AS EASY AS MAKING SCRAMBLED EGGS AND FINISHES MUCH FASTER TOO. BOTH OF THESE FILES ALSO NEEDS TO BE IN ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY STICK
******

** after downgrading back to 1.5 from 3.03OE-B
1) ran pspfiler2.8 restore function to restore flash0 in hacker mode
2) restore was successful according to pspfiler2.8, pressed O to continue and manually restarted PSP without exiting pspfiler2.8. i did this because i wasn't sure if the xmb will load properly going from 1.5 to 3.03oe-b
3) psp restarted into 3.03OE-B complete with all the custom fonts and xmb icons, yay! went into System Settings, Corrupt screen came out
4) restarted psp again and went through system settings
5) ran pspfiler2.8 in hacker mode and restored flash1 then pressed X to terminate pspfiler2.8
6) back to xmb again then went into system settings, all my previous settings from 3.03OE-B were restored

** after downgrading back to 2.71SE-C from 3.03OE-B (this same set of steps works when restoring from 3.0xOE-x)
1) placed pspfiler2.8 eboot.pbp into \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY
2) went into recovery mode and chose "Run program at \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY\EBOOT.PBP
3) now in pspfiler2.8, went into hacker mode and started restoring flash1
4) restore was successful according to pspfiler2.7, this time i pressed X to terminate pspfiler2.8
5) as expected its now back to 3.03OE-B complete with all the custom fonts and xmb icons. again Corrupt screen came out in system settings
6) ran pspfiler2.8 in hacker mode and restored flash1 then pressed X to terminate pspfiler2.8
7) everything now restored

i find this very useful for when:
a) you semi-brick from 2.71SE-C/3.0xOE-B or whatever revision and can still access recovery menu. no need to re-install 3.0xOE-A, OE-A', OE-B and then re-installing custom gameboots, fonts and xmb icons all over again
b) you are like me who goes back to 1.5 every so often to be able to run umd emulator when my wife wants to watch movie isos that are either dumped from my umds or downloaded or play old games (like atv offroad fury which i cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to run since 2.71SE-C)

so basically if you mess with your firmware a lot in one of D_A's many custom firmwares, backing up flash0 and flash1 before doing anything will save you the trouble of re-installing all over again. hope this helps someone, cheers!

pspfiler is now aways in \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY and i always backup flash before doing any flashing. cheers!

does the NO UMD feature prolong battery life?
*
from experience whenever you try to play downloaded games the umd drive will spin-up for a few seconds during game loading and after that it doesnt spin anymore so even if it does prolong battery life, it will probably be very little and not noticable at all

haiz... many bugs. topmenu does not work... i think i'll wait for a fix
*
its not a bug, sony obviously changed the top_menu.rco. theoretically if you get a decrypted top_menu.rco from a 3.10 dump you can modify that and use it to replace your standard xmb

Just rename the 303oeflasher (make sure the DATA.DXAR for 3.03OE is in this folder)  to RECOVERY and put it into /PSP/GAME folder and go to Recovery Menu and select 'Use /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP'.

You don't have to go back to 1.50. Just to save time.
*
yeah and time is not the only thing you save. if you go back to 1.5 you no longer have recovery menu, so if your upgrade to 3.03oe-c somehow fails halfway or semi-brick (it can happen) then you have no way to recover.

oh ok, so you go back to 1.5, install recovery menu then upgrade to 3.03oe-c? what's the point?

i think the point that lrdshaper mean is when on the process of downgrading to 1.5 from 3.xxoe the psp might get brick... so there is no where u can access the recovery while u do the downgrading to 1.5.. after u finish downgrade then u can install the recovery mode.
*
exactly, thank you for clearing it up for me.

@figure8: sorry if i sounded cocky, my point was just that when you go back to 1.5 you no longer have recovery, unless you install it like you said. still, safest way is to go straight to 3.03oe. cheers!

@Bernard Yeo: you dont need the 303oeflasher%

congratulations, hope you enjoy your psp as much as we do here. you mentioned you're in 3.03 so i assume that's sony's official firmware and not dark_alex's custom firmware right? if so then you won't be able to play homebrew on that machine until you downgrade. but in order to downgrade from 3.03 you need the unpatched version of gta:lcs game. a bit hard to find but there are others here who are offering downgrade service. i'm living in kl area, if you need help downgrading let me know and i'll downgrade it for you so you can enjoy the wonderful world of homebrew. cheers!
