Attached Image

my e6300@ 2.4Ghz 63'C idle 80'C full load from TAT
but EasyTune shows 53'C idle 70'C full load, which one more accurate...
mean time i better change back to stock speed, anyway to lower temperature using stock fan?

u can google up orthos.
did u replace the thermal paste on the stock HSF?
download everest or coretemp.
everest and TAT should be the most accurate among all.

Hi, i'm quite new to overclocking...please guide me along...thanks...

I've just got a new e6300 on a ds3 mobo. The problem is the cpu fan takes about 3 seconds to start spinning...is this normal?

And what is the stock temp for this cpu? My temp is 40C...normal? Im using the intel stock cooler with a normal coolermaster thermal paste. Do i need a new cooler?

And are there any uber noob guides to overclocking a rig with my specs? Would like one that specifically uses a DS3 as an example. I've read some of the guides in the pinned topics...but don't really understand most of them.
*
it's normal, takes seconds to spin, if on fan fail warning in bios, lagi annoying, hear long beep ....
will get used to it...
well alot of ppl using ds3 including me....
basicly i started of following what yehlai said in a few pages before,
try 350fsb, 100pcie, memory x2, voltage don't use auto, lock it at 3.25... later tht u can discover yourself......can try lowering vcore to get lower temp, then torture test it with orthos

it is conroe..... ppl got confuse by allendale because of l2 cache...
the real allendale is the 4 series with lower FSB, confirmed by intel, i started a topic, but mod locked it saying it's old news and "everybody" knows.... sleep.gif

QUOTE
Allendale

For a very long time, it was considered that stripped down versions of the Conroe processors were code-named Allendale. In actuality, Allendale is a code-name for a different processor. Many suggest that E6300 and E6400 are actually code-named Allendale, however, the E6300 (1.86 GHz) and E6400 (2.13 GHz) processors are not code-named Allendale because they physically have 4 MB cache, same as their big brothers E6600 and E6700 - it is just that half of their physical memory is disabled. Traditionally, CPUs of the same family with less cache simply have the unavailable cache disabled (this allows parts that fail quality control to be sold at a lower rating). The fact that E6300 and E6400 are not code-named Allendale and actually code-named Conroe has been confirmed by Intel themselves.

Quoted from The Tech Report:

You'll find plenty of sources that will tell you the code name for these 2 MB Core 2 Duo processors is "Allendale," but Intel says otherwise. These CPUs are still code-named "Conroe," which makes sense since they're the same physical chips with half of their L2 cache disabled. Intel may well be cooking up a chip code-named Allendale with 2 MB of L2 cache natively, but this is not that chip.

The real Allendale processors, including the E4300, will be released during Q1 2007.
