Guys, to DS3 users. Regarding the latest F10 bios, i found that it has a flaw which results in performance degradation in 3DMark compared to previous F6/F7 bios... I noticed i lost around 16FPS - 20FPS in certain run especially in 3DMark2001SE car chase and lobby (high & low detail)... It is good, in terms of clock-to-clock speed and allow me to further stretch the divider to 4:5 when running above 400FSB but i don't understand that it caused severe damage towards our beloved FPS sad.gif

i dunno where to see my ram vdimm, i tried ctrl+f1 at bios and it shows the latency only, now i am using kingston hynix chip. I increase the vdimm to 0.2v. But last nite i tried orthos and it ran until self-test 20k passed and 7 test later then i dunno maybe my comp reboot or wat, but normally it reboot improperly will say "the window is recovered from serious error".. Last time i oc until 2.8ghz 100% no prob at all... no BSOD, orthos whole day no error... dunno wat happen now...
*
Default Vdimm is 1.80v, increasing +0.2v = 2.0v. There is no way you can see the Vdimm in the bios except for a multimeter or EasyTuner...

I think at 3.4GHz you will need higher Vcore to get Orthos stable... What is the settings you tried?

my setting:-

Bios vcore 1.5v/ in windows shows 1.44v
Ram timming 5-4-4-12@ 2.0V

others voltage such NB & SB are all AUTOs
*
Could be the Commando is Vdrooping a lot. Didn't try higher Vcore? Previously i was stable at 3.40GHz at 1.50v bios set too... NB and SB give them some volts there, no harm though nod.gif

yeah. with my current D9GKX (from sHawTY  thumbup.gif ), i got 3.2ghz, DDR916@ 4-4-4-10 at 2.1v, orthos stable. the ram capable of clocking over 1ghz @ 4-4-4-10 too... brows.gif
*
Is that result from 3.2GHz, DDR916 4.0-4-4-10? Thanks.... smile.gif

Guys, a question here. I should be getting my E6600 tomorrow hopefully. And so i will be installing windows on my new PC. So now it's a question whether should i install XP SP2 or Vista ? Will it effect the OC performance ? What about temp/voltage/etc monitoring softwares compatibilty ?
*
Hello there welcome to there Core 2 family biggrin.gif I think personally it is down to your own preference on Vista or XP, but for me XP is still fine and the software for monitoring your temp, voltages should come with your motherboard's CD. Remember to post your result yea thumbup.gif
