Hi, I am searching about this. May I know what's the difference for Maybank Equity Investment Centre and Maybank Investment Bank?

I opened an account with Maybank Investment Bank a few weeks ago. Now I'm abit confused

'Cause it seems like my account and my friend's account is different? My friend's trading account come with a premier 1 account, but mine don't have
*
I don't really know the details to be honest, but i've traded with both.

Both worked rather similarly.

1. For fund transfer,
MBB IB - I need to transfer to Maybank IB account and inform my remisier to reload my trading limit
MBB EIC - Just transfer to the Current account and immediately appear on my trading acc - can buy straight away

2. For brokerage fee,
MBB IB - RM 28 or 0.42%, whichever higher.
MBB EIC - RM 8 or 0.10%, whichever higher.

Since I'm solely an investor with very low transaction frequency, I can't really tell the difference apart from the points mentioned above.

I did not explore any other features - margin/leverage, contra etc., I'm solely upfront cash trading.

Best to ask your remisier on what's the difference - I believe yours are MBB IB with RM 28/0.42%. Curious to know whats the diff too, cheers!

Can we move/transfer our stock portfolio to direct account with Maybank?

Do you mind elaborate your question? From which account do you mean?

If you mean from any other bank's nominee/direct, then yes, just contact your new broker and they can facilitate the transfer with your previous bank's broker.

If it is Maybank to Maybank, note that any 1 individual can only have 1 Direct CDS opened with Maybank (regardless of MBB IB or MBB EIC) at the same time. Otherwise, you can have both Nominee and Direct CDS account opened with Maybank. I'm currently holding these 2, but I only use the Direct CDS.

Thanks for the information! I wanted to open an account with RM 8 or 0.10% brokerage fees. I guess I went to the wrong branch lol

Do you know is it possible for me to open another account at MBB EIC? Meaning I will have 2 trading accounts under Maybank?

Yes you can, provided that it is not the same type of CDS (i.e. Direct and Direct).

Note that any 1 individual can only have 1 Direct CDS opened with Maybank (regardless of MBB IB or MBB EIC) at the same time. Otherwise, you can have both Nominee and Direct CDS account opened with Maybank. I'm currently holding these 2, but I only use the Direct CDS.

No worries tho. Been there, made the same mistake. Just spread the word for any future forumers or your friends smile.gif haha

1. Open the New Direct CDS with New Broker
2. Once done, tell your new broker to provide you the information for share transfer from your Old Nominee CDS
3. Approach your Old Broker to request for transfer, sign up a few forms, pay RM10/company share if not mistaken, and the rest will be dealt by your Old Broker.
4. Wait and should be done within 1-2 working days.

Alternatively (depending on broker), if you opened your New Direct CDS, ask your New Broker speak with your Old Broker to facilitate the transfer for you, without you doing anything except paying the RM10/stock fee.

Hope this helps.

It was a few years back
Its best you press for an explanation cause it should not take months to open an account.

I know this is old, but have you managed to find a solution? My Chrome had this problem few months back and still same, so I used Edge and it was working fine. Now, Edge is also giving the same error. I have ensured that cookies are enabled and also cleared all cookies. Still giving the same error. I guess at this point, I have to switch back to the old IE interface

Just now tried the Edge. Ya, have the same problem as Chrome.

I think the M2U didn't upgrade their browser.

I seldom use the chart in there. I use the google finance for fast check.

i believe you still need to make an appointment to sign up forms with your broker.

best to call maybank equity investment centre (EIC) to clarify
