for the same money, i consider toshiba, asus and benq
*
for the same $, i'll consider this Y400 tongue.gif

nvr look at the real model, but from all the review, it doesnt suffer heat problem and has 3.5-4hours battery life, which means i can carry it around always, and type it for comfortably blush.gif

i'm considering to buy either lennove Y400 C2D or acer 5583. Can anyone please tell me whether the Y400 is stable and reliable...thanks

at least better than acer in terms of the overall built quality (better keyboard, speaker, and casing), and best online support (u'll be surprise if u own it, u can always play w software and firmware update)

thanks...

what about the support? any on-site service? service centre in k.l?

im planning to use this mainly for surfing, video con, ms office works and a bit of strategy gaming like CnC, warcraft, AoE etc...(not carbon). wud this Y400 be good for it?
*
all the task u want to do will be just fine, only thing tht may limit u is gaming. Warcraft yes, CnC or AoE no idea becoz i seldom play games, if u find it's playable w Geforce FX5200, it should be equivalent to tht blush.gif

it's the GMA950 bottlenect, no matter which model u choose, the GMA950can only do light gaming smile.gif

IBM service is excellent, as long as u bring it to their service centre at Tmn Tun Doktor Ismail (will be shifting to 1U), but on-site service wise, the only u can rely is DELL, other brands is just shakehead.gif

depends , the higher model of this laptop doesnt use GMA. the 945424A model uses GMA. while the 945425A uses NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300(128 MB Dedicated)

check out williamngwl sales thread!

yeah u r rite smile.gif

for the 2 model comparison Raja Utara given, we can know tht the price range is around RM3k +-, so we assume he's discussing for GMA950

@shirohamada, thanks for the great info smile.gif

@Raja Utara, in benchmark yes, but real life no, because 3D take the major role here.. wat u hv to concern is the video converting, it relies on the processor more rather than gaming, however it would be differs in few seconds too tongue.gif

C2D is great mainly because of the 64bit function to support 64bit vista, but i doubt the maturity time for the 64bit software to take advantage in this few years

if the RM300 is not a significant amount for u, go for the C2D, it'll tend to be more future approve; but if RM300 sounds a burden, CD1.60 will be just fine, at least for the coming 2 years time, 32bit will not die because there is 32bit vista, and 32bit vista will run 16bit program where 64bit vista cannot smile.gif

wht he meant was he cant change the resolution for the notebook becoz no driver is installed

u try to go nvidia website, or no choice u might need to stick back to 32bit smile.gif

becoz no driver support for the gc, he cant change the resolution, the option he got is either 800x600 or 1024x768 etc..

one more solution, u may try to look for others brand notebook which comes w the same graphic card and download from there

i actually wonder does the pop sound only come out when he plug into adapter.. if he cannot hear the pop sound using battery, it might be a possibility tht the current he used got problem
