My fren car aircond emit hot air especially in hot weather. He went to shop and the mechanic say need 1k to fix because need to change the entire aircond. Do you know any reliable and good shop to fix aircond. My fren cant tahan dy. Too hot. Any car expert here? Thank you

I been chopped by them 2 weeks ago. major service, agreed. then during service call me this k.o that k.o bla bla bla. godai my 2k++

somemore told me 2 of the tyre expired already. Fcking hell, I just change it last year with exactly the same service centre. I said no need change.

Upon taking the car, they add more "your aircond got problem. maybe need to change compressor".

based on my experience. here's few possible fault.
try 1 by 1 to identify actual reason rather than change everything

1. if gas keep finish meaning some part leaking. could be compressor,condenser or coil
after refill, have to slowly find the liquid leak from where
2. dryer finish
3. fan not spinning mean rosak
4. Compressor got sound or not strong already

First change the Relay, most cheapest and most of the time this is the problem part

Cooling coil rosak usually quite expensive and take 2-3 days to fix.

So the majority of the cost will be on labour. Not sure whether 1k is reasonable but i changed my toyota harrier cooling coil few weeks ago and it cost me 1.8k and 3 days in total. P.S This a a case where I know the mechanic quite well and he normally will not overcharge.

how much money u have to spend on it?
then try to ask a few shop, aircon system, if change all, then it's 1k, not necessary, sometimes, u need that gas only.. maybe required less than that..

aircond system work as a team, even 1 part damage, it's doesn't deliver cool air to u.. i don't think it required that much to fix it.
sometimes, fan also could be the culprit

If original Perodua that price might be possible. But check with SC first. there are also aftermarket options which are cheaper..

sometimes coil might not be faulty, maybe just insides got galvanic corrosion...

incl labour will not reach 1k also if you do outside perodua.... assuming of course, that's the only damaged part.

Many people in Malaysia cannot afford to own a car but still do so. Your friend is a good example of such people. Owning a car includes the maintenance as well and Perodua's aircond (from Denso) is rubbish quality. Ppl thing buying a cheap Viva is a good idea.

Note: Many expensive cars also use Denso aircond as well but the quality differs very much compared with what you get on a Perodua.

Last year same thing happened to my crv, air con only come out hot air. Then found out the bearing or something spoil liao, if change need 600-800 and i said ok since everytime air con problem he will just clean and refill gas, sometimes never charge me also. Towards the end he said he found another bearing from kilang potong kereta and replaced it for me. charge me rm100-200 only.

i've seen a 3 years old myvi a/c whole a/c need to be changed

When aircond got problem... one whole set change new one including tubing. see cost how much.. base on experience blardy aircond parts will breakdown 1 by 1 when one of it start to breakdown.

My family once spent close to 3k over the spent of 3 years when the Myvi aircond start to kong. this doesn't apply to proton cars.. apparently my old wira aircond is still working fine after 14 years of using without any parts breaking down.. miracle.

yeah... better to find denso replacement one whole set have it change. don't do them 1 by 1.. you will waste alot of workmanship charges.

depends long or short part. coz the coil can from bonnet till dashboard. quite troublesome to replace

Normally air cond x sejuk, either compressor, or leaking. Kipas sudah x kuat or no pusing pun satu. Compressor can be internally rosak, this one tukar recond. If the magnetic clutch on compressor not engaging, tukar clutch. If no gas or pressure very less, cooling coil bocor. This is common. Condenser on the front akan bocor jugak but very less. If cooling coil bocor, tukar la. As to the question why change the whole system, biasa if compressor kong, all those tiny metals will contaminate the whole system, boleh flush but not recommended on newer vehicle sebab lubang cooling coil and condenser nowadays very small. Cannot flush until very clean and still will have contaminants. The whole ac system must not have contaminants and water. Thats why there are filter dier. Filter drier x akan rosak cuma sudah lama cannot filter kotoran and cannot absorb water in the system. If compressor kong and the oil turns black, recommend tukar whole system. If not it will give you headache in long run. If bocor no need change whole system. Kipas rosak also no need change whole system. One more component is expansion valve but jarang rosak.

hi ts, my viva aircon almost 2 years dy aircon rosak, still haven't repair

last dec i went to repair at aircon shop, i say wan fill in gas only. the fellow say my compressor x jalan, so he fix the relay for free, something about the wiring la, later memang cool air saje.
a day after that my car cannot start, even trying to jumpstart x boleh. have to call tow truck tarik to bengkel in utm, they say the wiring that the shop fixed is sumting wrong until my whole car electric jalan despite already off engine. and i have made sure all electronics lampu all tutup last time. i ask can repair or not they say they not aircon specialist so xde pro situ.

until now my aircon back to rosak. hot weather hot air, cool weather cool air. i want go repair also takut kene scam like this dah la aku pompuan dunno shit

I was charged 500 in total because of leakage. If I'm not mistaken they changed the compressor, and cooling coil plus gas. I'm driving an old saga btw

If motor fan can get 60-70 oem part. 110-130 for original. How to check, stsrt engine till hot enough, will auto spin. If not spin, motor not good.

If ok, check the compressor magnet. If burnt out, replace only this. Lower than 200 a piece.

or it could be the evaporator coil... rm1k is most likely the coil... compressor would usually cost more, i think.

Sometimes 1st step to pump in gas is necessary with the condition as stated below:

When your car aircond system has insufficient gas and not cold, it's preferred to pump in gas firstly, THEN check the aircond parts condition & gas leakage point (if necessary).

When your car aircond system has sufficient gas but not cold, it's preferred to directly check the aircond parts condition & gas leakage point (if necessary).

because IMO if u have insufficient gas....isn't that abt time to service the a/c as well?
because in general, we should have service is once year which we didn't ...clearly
for me, if that guy really have the heart to fix it for u...he would proceed to check whats wrong with it...instead of just pump gas

Last month, kereta gua aircond tak sejuk..go kedai top up gas, charge RM40, they said got leak ..

but hard to find..after top up..aircond cold as winterfell..

fast foward 2 days later..aircon compressor didnt running at all...goes to the same shop..

they found out cooling coil rosak (leaking)...new one RM280+RM350 upah bukak dashboard + expansion pipe(or valve?) RM80...

aircond back cold as winterfell ever after...ayam happy but not for my agong paper 'fly'
