Greetings fellow gamers.

As most of you know there has been a talk bout having LYN very 1st LAN PARTY.
We have managed to secure a spot for this event. It will be held in Autumn Breeze Internet Cafe at Taman Chiliung, Klang. The owner of the place Mr Andy which is also a forumer here has agreed to sponsor the Venue with all the bells n whistles at NO cost at all. The dates that we are looking at is in FEB before Valentines day, so it should be on the 10th n 11th FEB. Its kinda soon, but doing it after CNY is not possible as it will be the CC's peak period as everyone gets their "Ang Pow" then. Among the facilities n equipment that will be provided are -

30 units of 19" LG Widescreen LCD displays
30 units of table with chairs
A couple of sofa
2 units of 42" Plasma display, LG also iinm
Sufficient power points + LAN points

Basically his cafe is 3 shop lots, and we are gonna have the event in the 1 of the lots. All 3 lots are connected. As for security, we have to be our own guard n police man for that manner, but we will try to block the access to public at certain times.

We will most probably have the event on a Saturday morning n will last till Sunday Noon. As the place is open 24/7 we can camp there over nite and game on. There is also a hotel nearby for those who needs the rest.

What are we gonna do for 24hrs of game time..??? Well of course we will have tourneys like LP, GOW, COD3, GRAW, PGR3, NFS:Carbon, FIFA 07 n yes HALO 2 .. n etc.. As games for the tourney game list its not confirmed yet, we see what games most of us have n that will be the choice.
Besides tourney, we will have free sessions where you guys can play what ever you want with whoever u want. And lastly we will open the event floor to the public at certain times of the tourney to let them go "gaga" on the full power of the X360 n hopefully make an impact to draw more PC Gamers to the X360 scene.

Those plasma screen will he again the glass display to showcase the event to the public. This stretch of road is popular during the evening n late evenings coz of the mamak stall nearby.

I have not much experience on this event organising n would really hope you guys with ideas n comments be it constructive or otherwise, to contribute your 2cents.
Together we can make this happen with huge success.

And lastly, we really hope that those who are financially able, to contribute on the events as prize sponsor.

As you can see the right lot has 4 panes of glass doors, n the upmost front is the entry to the right side of the cyber cafe.
As for the left lot, the entry point is thru the back of the unit below the stairs. [at where the yellow shirt guy is standing (pic 2) n also after the oval shape table (pic 1)]

Who wants to go down to the place with me in this coming days to visually make the event perimeter.

Guys, hope you all had a good CNY, feeding ur face n collecting angpow's. Since most of you guys are back now.. I just wanna know how shall we approach this event..??

Klubba, did managed to contact me sometime b4 CNY, and we talk bout the what the event would be like if had it in a BIG scale event (in a shopping mall, showing the x360 to the real public, be confined to the sponsors liking [to some degree] but we get to pass the message across that we are serious in the x360 to MS) or we can do it small scale (in the cafe, get to play what we want to play, when we want to play, not much public awareness)

Since this a a gaming community, no one person shall decide what we are going for. We shall come to a collective understanding on what we all want to see in this, and what hope to see in the future.

Let us know what you x360'ers think bout our gaming community and how the event should developed into.

Andy from PCGames.com.my eh? He already had a plan to make a cybercafe filled with consoles instead of PCs. Looks like it's gonna materialize.

Went to that place once.....but to 1st floor (if im not mistaken) to get my battlefield 2142....but that place area looks so scarylah....maybe bec i hardly go to klang....lol

This Autumn Breeze is new, n just renovated like few mths back. Previously it was named Summer Dream.

From my POV to make it happens,

First, we need at least 20 to 30 participants.

2nd, game tourney to pro-long the fun. (n we need event organizer, game marshal, rules n regulations)

3rd prizes.（sponsors->gamer's hideout??)

we need at least 10 committee to plan everything.

at the moment, the main concern is how many participants will join the LAN Party since this is a CONSOLE only lan party.

now bz playing burning crusade... must grind grind grind... but will make time for this event...

why get a few of us here to go there and do a lil survey of the place... bring a few 360's there to test the connection, power and atmosphere..

i'm kinda worry about the event organizer, game marshal, rules n regulations part. how on earth are we going to hire and who is willing to do it? must be some pc gamer that can resist the poison eh

alkt: trying out the new expansion... not bad.. at least the new characters are playable.... but seriously takes up too much time..

i know but what happens if one of us their box got stolen? many things can happen

luckily i stopped, WoW is taking too much time and my money

also i lazy wanna go raid this raid that. stuffs that i get in the end is just not worth my effort and time

Unless the shop owner (Andy) willing to barricade the area and also if we want to promote the LAN party, we need to advertise (banner/broachers /flyer ) it doesn't help if only our own community join the party, we need to promote/expand our 360 community as well, this is part of the purpose of having such a big event.


As for game, I would suggest to have 1 game for each of the category.

Sport - FIFA07/WEX/NBA LIVE/NBA2k7
First Person shooter - R6:LV/Halo2/PDZ/Prey/COD2/COD3
3rd Person shooter - GOW/GRAW/LP
Racing - PGR3/NFSC/TDU
Fighting - DOA4/FNR3

there are alot more to discuss, guess we should start asking volunteer to be the event committee/organiser/marshal and discuss bout this LAN Party.

Note: mostly committee are not entitled to play in LAN Party.(coz u wont be free during the lan party time)

ive been to port klang plenty of times its halfway almost there :| and not to forget rm 2.10 toll one way

i would suggest create another temporary sub forum in xbox, and only allowed those are the part of the event committee.

again, time is running out. shumaky alone can't do anything if you guys don't stand up and help him as he is very kind enough to spare his time with the cc owner (andy) to get the place for us.

and, another thread for those whom wan 2 participate or shumaky change your post and update the list daily, this is to ensure there are enough responses from the public.

at last, the main concern is bout the security issues. marshal? 360body guards? can Andy willing to spare few of his stuff to help us on this?

Guys I really need your support on this if we are gonna make this happen.

I'm gonna create a new thread to get the list of participants (pls dont FFK) as we only have spots for 30 people. In this thread also I want those who list their name select on what games they have. If they have all the games in that particular category, then please select which game u are more pro at. Also try not to join all the tourney events that are listed, as we need your help in "jaga'ing" n keeping track of the tourney that are going on. We have 7 tourney's, so try to restrain yourself to 4 or less.

Also I need someone that is good at art to create a banner or poster. For starters we need to create a sig, to spread the event news forum wide.

And lastly sponsors.

I suggest you bold and enlarge the event date on the 1st post. Its hidden among pool of words.

I can't make it for the event but i have some experience in event organising so I can help out in the planning.

First thing is the committee needs a checklist of the things to prepare. I think the voting on games is less important because the major attractions like GoW, Halo 2, FIFA 07, PGR3 can just be included instead of voted on.

I know we want to give the gamers what they want, but if you decide the games, its easier to work out the other logistics.

@shumaky yeah understand where you are going with the voting but from personal experience, voting can be a double edged sword...since the games are quite popular anyway such as GoW, FIFA, Halo 2 and PG, i think its a safe bet everyone will agree to play the games.

Once you fix the games, I think its just a matter of getting people to come..

As for Blake, jst pm him in the forums. I am sure he will reply. I am still planning my budget, so I will let you know soon what I can sponsor.

Shumaky bro, would the items/things to be sponsored need to be Xbox related? Or can it be anything? How about opposing system like a PS3 or a Wii? I could sponsor that, if it's fine. Otherwise, no biggie.

Well, string is being mighty generous to the community, so why should the organisers turn down an offer like this - which doesn't come by every day mind u.

if keeping to the 360 theme is the order of the day, can always turn the PS3 into hard cash, buy a 360 and still have change to spare, which string is entitled to decide what to do with it. just my 2 cents - hope i'm not over-reaching.

Anyway, with so many games being played, might be a good idea to have more prizes to give away, rather than a single big prize.

After all, since this is a privately funded/sponsored event, we might all alone in the end without any sponsors.

But you gotta admit having a NEXT-GEN console as a prize is a big draw.

String, hope your 'favours' can get you more variety, such as MS points, controllers, wireless headsets, games etc...

It's basically free, i only need to take care of the shipping costs. From my buddy in Orange County, LA, i basically get her through her fears of height and got her hooked on roller coasters and thrill rides. I offered to pay my through, but she doesnt want anything of it. I wrestled her out for the shipping though.

Sorry grandma story. I figure, with the tax and shipping charges, it wouldnt even break a grand. Like getting a PSP.

Hmmm....in my opinion its better if you can postponed the event because 10-11th Feb is just like 2-3 weeks away. Kinda short to organized everything. Also a rush event is never a good idea, lots and lots of problem will appear. Better just take sometime to plan it accordingly because this sounds like a pretty big lan party.
