newbie here just started playing.. need advise on the following:

playing archer, current level 2x
found out that when i level up i no longer get skill points and i also clicked to advance to ranger when level 15

should i replay the game again and do it properly?

Stabbing by its own deal alot damage on a target.
That being said, if your monster have high hp, and you have Pain Barrier up, you definitely enjoy the DPS

Otherwise, if the monster is multiple and short HP, you will rather use some other big AOE skill like EarthWave.
Another problem with Stabbing is the 25sec cd.
If Stabbing 1 or 2 or 3 monster dealing 10kdmg each for 25sec,
Earthwave can deal 10k DMG to 2/3/4/5 monster every 8sec.

So eitherway, adding Hoplite to your Cata is a luxury/utility, but not a necessary.
Choose your path wisely, pick the class you enjoy playing.

And no, you can just hold the Stabbing key, it will do full Stabbing skill.

Some rumor say you able to change direction of Stabbing in mouse mode, but i only play on keyboard so i dont really know.

For SteedCharge, i rarely have the chance to use it on TBL, but having another knockdown skill is better than not having it at all.
Through my experience playing this Cata3 of mine, i rarely use SteedCharge. But i glad i have the skill at all.

So its up to you.

Standard Cata3 skill distribution is Trot15, Earthwave15, Rush5, DoomSpike9, Impaler1

EDITED: anyone notices an exploit that you can get speed hack? Not sure what trigger it, but it just happened to me.
