I tried to reset this pic and trying to do a clean install.
I'm getting error. The drive where Windows is installed is locked.
Unlock the drive and try again.

Please help. I have been trying to google around and nothing is working.
How can I do a clean install. Thanks

Does your got a COA sticker? If got then you should be using its own recovery instead of clean install.

Win 10 cannot boot or laptop cannot boot? Win 10 cannot boot, use recovery! Laptop cannot boot send back to manufacturer! simple solution.

Win 10 can not boot. Laptop is switched on.
I guess the recovery is not working since I had done the hard disc partition.
Any method to recover the win 10?

Retail disc should work...
Try your COA there: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

If not, probably through torrent sweat.gif because I don't really trust other direct download sites
http://mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/

EDIT: well, you can direct downloading, just make sure you check the iso's hashes against the hashes listed on the above site so to give you a piece of mind smile.gif

Thanks for your informative inputs.
i tried to key in the product key and verified - getting this error:
Error

The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.

Can i still download the torrent and using the key? thank you

Either the drive is dead/corrupted installation.

Grab the ISO and perform a reinstall.  icon_idea.gif

If not, then the drive could be dead and requires a replacement.  icon_idea.gif

I contacted Lenovo support and was told that my laptop can't support win 10.
He advised to roll back to win 7.
Is it true?
I got 8gRam i7.
Thanks

if you laptop does not have a DVD drive then get an external one

then boot up your machine with the Win 10 install DVD

Click Next to accept what is on screen then look bottom left for something like
'repair computer'

click that and go to troubleshoot then click on something that says 'start up problems'

the process it will do automatically will then repair any boot up problems if you had any

if you still cant boot then its not a boot manager problem

then you reinstall again what to do

Thank you.

1. Since your computer comes with Windows 10, I believe it's using UEFI. Windows 7 does not have native support for UEFI
2. For UEFI, you can't use the Windows 7 DVD to install Windows as it doesn't have UEFI driver pre-loaded, you need to get a Windows 7 ISO with UEFI driver pre-loaded then prepare the Windows 7 installer using RUFUS

my laptop was installed with Windows 7 and forced to upgrade to Windows 10.
Hence, I would like to do a clean install Windows 7.
can I use Windows 7 DVD?

Thanks

If your laptop originally preinstalled with Windows 7 of course you can clean install back with the DVD...

Probably you need to enable some legacy features like CSM in UEFI to install Windows 7 properly and look out for USB3 drivers if you have USB3 ports (or just disable USB3/xHCI support in UEFI and enable legacy USB support)...
I thought Windows 7 already has some EFI files that can be boot from UEFI? hmm.gif

Hi,I'm using DVD drive to install.
Getting error
A required cd dvd drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, cd , DVDs, or sub flash drive, please insert it now.

I had been trying to install the dvd driver but still the same.
Any idea?
Thanks
