Hey guys, I need to confirm this.

I was thinking of buying a 12-month prepaid from Amazon. The US price for the card is cheaper. I heard from some people and read in some threads that there is a difference between the US and Asian card.

Can someone confirm this? Have you actually tried it before?

ALSO, I have heard that if you subscribe with a CC, and you choose to unsubscribe later, you will not be able to downgrade your account to a SILVER account, which means NO ACCESS. Can anyone confirm this?

if your gold account is US registered account then you have to use US reload prepaid. if asian account then asian prepaid.

* if you getting US prepaid card please let me know i wanna buy too because my gold expiring in early feb.

Mine is registered under Singapore. I'm sure I can change it to US. Question is, what are the setbacks of US account and/or Singapore account?

Hmm. AFAIK they can't disable SILVER because it's a free service. Anyone have any input?

dont think so you can change it anymore. since you registered under SG then you need asian prepaird card. yes, you can change under system settings -- LOCALE to US but it's still a SG account.

no. you can't confirm that U/S account can't be used with local asia prepaid card.

as for example. MetalGrindSolid Accounts are U.S , However, He purchase the 3 months prepaid from me and its usable.. hm...

I got consumer/customer who said they are using 1600 ms point / 3 months asia prepaid card usable on thier U.S Accounts...

and some vice versa that can't seems to work..

don't think prepaid subscription cards are region locked, coz in the end all also microsoft untung.... but for points it's a different story, ala.. something like the tv show thingy la.. complicated stuff... having a US account, im stuck with no points now :'(

Ahh...so there's NO confirmation on the reload cards. GOOD.

Anyways, i'll probably get the US card anyways, and try out the reload. If it doesn't work, then i'll sell off the reload number in US Ebay.


Hoping to get more input so we can get this sorted out once an for all. The reload cards we have here are TOO OVERPRICED! I cannot accept it. Oh...and i've heard that US accounts get access to more content. So is that to say we pay more for a Live account and get less?

I can try to do a bulk if I can get this whole thingamajig sorted out, and no shipping required, because i'll have it shipped to my friend's house in US...though it'll mean that my friend will have to do alot of card scratching and typing...

Oooh...yahor...but btw, do you want the MS points ah? I'm planning to get it together with the reload. It comes up to RM238 for 12-month reload and 1600 points. (assuming I can get paypal dollars at 3.4)

Hi, I've registered my a/c under US but is still able to use the Asian Reload cards sold by GH. Another user whom I know has a US a/c and using reload card is bro metalgrindsolid.

How about the MS Point cards? Do they work cross-region wise? I have a US account with US machine, does the Asian MS Points card work on mine? Xbox.com forum have conflicting reports on this, and their cases are exclusive to the North American staying gamers only, no reports on those living outside continental US.
