years back i personally think the existing of 960 is only nvidia smart strategy to boost 970 sales due to its exceptional price/performance ratio.. 960 is just another yard stick to justify it.. i guess, history will repeat with 1060 and 1070 lol!

Anyone using palit gtx1070 gamerock? what highest coreclock you guys can oc? mine only can reach 2050-2025mhz stable.. any higher than that, driver will crash.. why i cant increase the voltage? im using afterburner btw.. but FE model saw in youtube can increase the voltage up to 100mv no prob. is it disabled by manufacturer? i really hope it can reach 2100mhz at least..

power target and temp limit already drag to the most right.. also in the setting already check unlock voltage control and monitoring.. but still the voltage bar gray out.. will try with precision tonight.

been playing with palit 1070 gamerock for couple of days now and im quite impressed with its performance.. 2075mhz core stable, 58c max temp with just 45% fan speed.. can lower down the temp more by increasing fan usage up to 70% with barely noticeable fan noise. heck i can completely shut off the fan cooler and only using case fan to cool off the gpu and yet temp never exceed 70c. thats beyond my expectation for a low price gpu performance . its humongous cooler really pays off.

thats makes me really itchy to get another 1070 for sli.. or maybe upgrade to 1080? since my 1070 only few days old no problem to sell it at minimum loss.. so guys 1070 sli or upgrade to 1080??

more like a sidegrade rather than upgrade.. IMO if you can sell 970 to him no less than rm1k, than its worth since you only need to topup couples hundred to get 1060

edit: but on the side of your friend, might as well get 1060 rather than buying used 970 with rm1k from you.. just my two cents

yeah thats what i heard about these "poor man's brand" like palit, leadtek and gainward.. low quality component, low performance etc, makes the brand not worth of buying. better go for "mainstream brand" like gigabyte, zotac, msi or even "bangsawan brand" like asus or evga.

im quite skeptical about this notion but still choose at least "mainstream brand" or better just for peace of mind for the past several years . but this time thinking that im actually waiting for ti and vega offering, so i decided to try that cheap "poor man's" palit, 1070 gamerock to be exact. really dont have high expectation for this card actually, just hope it can last me until vega or ti release. however after using it for near 2 weeks, i actually surprised by its "low performance". cooling and oc performance of the card is similar with mainstream brand or even close to the bangsawan brand.

hmmm better not be too happy as i dont really know the quality of its component yet.. takut2 cukup 3 bulan sudah kong lol

eh just realize your 2nd card is 4 slot away from the 1st card.. is it running x8? what mobo you are using? eh do you actually use amd cpu?

yeah im expecting that too.. last time using fx8350 with dual 290s cukup2 makan only.. with dual 1080s, that 8350 for sure kena heart attack lol
