Any suggestion on how to move large folder like 30gb+ from one smartphone to Redmi note 3 SD card without it failing and giving stupid errors?

Basically shifting from 1 phone to another.

I believe MIUI comes with MI Mover so that you can easily transfer data.

Should I buy Redmi Note 3 Pro 16GB at RM527? Good price already? Will it get any lower if I'm buying next month? smile.gif

Currently using Alcatel Flash 2
*
It's even lower than the cost price. You can't really find this price elsewhere

Thanks for your quick reply.

For Import set (china ROM), is easy to flash with Global ROM?
Need to root first before can flash?

After flash to Global ROM, is there any pop-up ads or any annoying thing behind?
*
It's never difficult to flash a Xiaomi phone. If anyone tells you you need to root to flash ROM, they're telling a lie.

China Stable ROM never had popout adds but only Vendor ROM does.

Thanks for the tips.
But if I buy online from Lazada/Gem5, how do I know the version of this?
I don't think seller post it clearly...  tongue.gif

You would only know when you receive the phone.

Thanks for the youtube link.
at 4:41, it show snapdragon 618 instead of 650
Other than regconise the SimCard slot to compare between MTK and SD 650, from the youtube link, it use AIDA64 apps installed and show up all the details, is there any way to view from firmware/software?

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Jul 18 2016, 10:45 PM)
Just got my Redmi Note 3 3GB Ram version today, I'll be doing comparison with my Huawei Mate 8

Design:
The design is very very identical and similar to the Mate 8, maybe its because of where the fingerpring sensor was placed and both is made from the same materials, however the RN3 back is much more slippery.

Screen:
This is entirely up to user preferance, the RN3 provides a more "white" and "bright" display, however the Mate 8 provides a more "warm" color and "yellowish" look. In clarity wise, they're barely noticeable as well, and I would say RN3 looked more natural , and Mate 8 looked more vibrant.

OS:
With the MIUI, its literally the same thing as EMUI found in the Huawei Mate 8, I would say these 2 phones are the most identical phone I've ever seen so far from 2 different company. However the only difference in OS is the placing of settings, animation, and many minor stuffs.

Speed&Smoothness:
As both of the phone are very very identical, I can barely tell the difference in smoothness, but Mate 8 is noticeably faster in every task, I think its due to the Kirin 950 chip compared to the MTK chip. However animation flows and smoothness are about the same and I can't tell the difference.

Camera:
Surprisingly for the price, the RN3 camera was able to match my Mate 8 and has better autofocus than my Mate 8, but in general like colors and vibrant, Mate 8 is still better, however in terms of details, I can't tell much difference as I'm no camera expert tongue.gif

Speaker:
Mate 8 all the way! The RN3 speaker quality is way far from the Mate 8, in terms of volume, clarity, and even bass! I guess this is one of the drawbacks for the low pricing.

Fingerprint scanner:
Both provides a very good spot for you to unlock your phone through fingerprint, the RN3 is slightly easier to unlock due to the fact that its a smaller phone compared to the Mate 8, however in terms of unlock speed, Mate 8 wins just by a tad of milli seconds, maybe like 0.3-0.5 seconds? Not really a drawback as its not that noticeable anyway.

Fast Charging:
For some reason, my RN3 doesn't support fast charging, search that up and some said it support and some said it doesn't, anyway from a normal consumer view, this is a drawback for me as there's no fast charging as default.

So in conclusion is that, if you want a cheaper alternative to other phones out there, this is a good phone as it has a good fingerpring scanner, good camera, smooth OS, and its just slightly behind the Mate 8. It kind of makes the Mate 8 unworth as so much price gap, yet so little difference.

Kirin 950 is a tier above Mediatek Helio X10 so performance gap is expected.

Hi guys, just found this thread, nice!

I like to ask the owners do u have any experience with slow whatsapp syncing from ur address book?

For example, I am using HTC m8 and Samsung note3, when I just save a new contact in my phone (I usually saved under Google),  it takes forever for whatsapp to sync the contact. As a result I'm unable to text the new contact via whatsapp until only when whatsapp has sync the contact.

I also find it lagging in whatsapp when I try to create a new message, search for a contact to text.

Not sure these two problems happen becuz I have tons of chats in my whatsapp (I usually don't delete my chats), and I  have too many contacts in my phone book ( around 1000+). Is it whatsapp's problem that I need to clear up the chats or is this common with Android phones? My friends who are using either' iPhone 5 or 6 get their whatsapp sync with new contacts almost instantaneously.

Am seriously considering the 32gb/3ram rn3 and with the more powerful performance hopefully it can overcome these problems. Would like to know any of you users face  these whatsapp issues that I mentioned?

Thanks guys! notworthy.gif

The most it takes to sync for me is around 3-4 seconds

Thanks guys for all the replies! appreciate it!

Any advice on any recommended seller that i can look for ? Am planning to get the SD650 version with 32gb/3ram.

Btw, since the phone supports dual sim card, can it run two whatsapp on two numbers simultaneously?

still taking very long to sync my new contact to whatsapp.

I save my new contacts under google account, but the user cannot be found in whatsapp. just checked, i've 3000++ contacts in my google account, does that matter?
*
Exactly how long does it takes to sync? If it's around a minute or two it's still normal considering the amount of your contact.

Usually, it takes easily more than 10minutes for it to link up.... if it's within 5 minutes, then i'm happy lol ....
*
That was quite long. Are you using wifi to sync? Usually connection via wifi doesn't take so long.

I have a problem too. I want to add Oversea's number but somehow I can't put + in the number there. For example +65 (for singapore's number), I have to copy the '+' sign from somewhere to paste it. Anyone know how to type + when adding contact's number?

Hi all,

wanna check if anyone traveled abroad and used the redmi note 3?
to be specific USA?

i m now @ USA but i keep getting this "Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active

and

cant send your simcard isnt activated (Mi message)

probably because of that my phone battery keeps draining from 100-90% before i sleep and when i wake up i get about 40-50% balance.

anyone knows a quick fix to it?
*
This problem definitely not coming from your phone. Have you activated roaming (if you're on postpaid)? Have you connected to your carrier's roaming partner? Does your carrier have roaming agreement with any carrier in US?
