Hi everyone,

I've just got my XBox 360 last Friday and before I go any further, my household don't have a broadband line. The thing is, the area I'm staying is a Maxis area. I did ask whether Streamxy can be connected there but I was advise it can't be done so.

So on with the most expensive 715kbps Broadband of Maxis that I have been eyeing on to subscribe (not sure to get the Wireless or Wired) and have to pay RM 98 a month... but before I do so I called and check with Maxis...

It seems... it can't be done also. What the? It's like a waste that I can't connect XBox Live...

I just need to know whether this is true or not from XBox 360 owners out there. Have any of you subscribe to Maxis Broadband and try it on your XBox 360?

it not only applies to maxis wireless broadband service... all wireless broadband services in malaysia aint suitable for gaming, until wimax comes along.....

i even tried gaming with EDGE, playing CS.. and it aint a pretty picture...

Hey guys, I need some feedback. Are any of you here using Maxis Wired Broadband for home? Please let me know how your connection is like.

I have a friend using the said service, and his connection to mine is laggy. Maybe not as bad as Intl to TMNet, but still bad enough to cause white hairs. He's currently connected directly to the broadband modem and is living in BU.

it all dependes on the routing. try asking him to run a tracert to ur ip. see where it runs. it might be fixed after MyIX is fully set up.

No...he's saying it sucks compared to Streamyx. But i'm not surprised. Wireless connections have alot of overhead and there can be interference issues.

Have recently gotten the Maxis Broadband and using the 3G USB modem but I can't seem to configure my Box and get on Live. Has anyone encoutered this problem? Anyone using the same connection? Help urgently needed !

Would appreciate if you guys can post some solutions, or have had first hand experience. Thanks cry.gif

PS: My XBOX is connected to the PC via ethernet cable.

One week trial also got TnC attached! Beware! You gotta cancel and return the modem by ONE WEEK else they will bind you to a contract of 18 freaking months. Even if you cancel, your RM100 is NOT refundable.

Lose-lose situation haha. sad.gif Now I'm getting a phone line from TM, and awaiting to sign up with their 4Mbps package.

Maxis: RM138/month
Streamyx: RM160/month

= confirm die T_T

Is there any way to connect the Maxis modem directly to your xbox 360? I'm using an iMac and so I can't really hook it up via PC -> Xbox...

No you can't hook it up directly but you can hook the modem up to the Mac using USB, configure to share connection and use the XBOX360 ethernet cable to connect them smile.gif

Ahah! I figured it out and actually you CAN connect it directly to the Xbox360. It was all a matter of fixing the network settings on my console and setting the modem to auto connect regardless of what it was connecting to. >_<

From my experience based on the ZTE modem, you can't.

Although the modem can auto conenct and ou can fiddle around the console setting, te Maxshit actually need the PC to perform some sorta "login" procedure via "visit" the URL :-

http://58.71.141.15/maxis-storefront/conne...om.my%2Fmaxisbb

Our XB360 is not capable to do that should the connection suddenly failed. doh.gif

that's your opinion, not the fact.

I've used the Maxis Wireless to play online games all the time and I had a lot of fun on it. The only problrm is the connection over my area is not stable on daytime

i cant seem to connect properly to MRO servers and thru hamachi.

i've noticed the connecton problem for XB live is because of my own windows firewall..altho it says moderate NAT, but connection to GTA4 game servers and halo servers are ok...but weekend totally out lar...lol,,,

There're wireless routers to connect the USB modem. That might be your solution.
