finally an update after 7 months.

- 40 gold to buy in the outlaw pass
- you still get some freebies without purchasing the outlaw pass / not as lucrative as owning the outlaw pass
- new dog / Javier's outfit / Zorro eye mask / State's coat of arms flag / drunk walking style ... (outlaw pass exclusive items)




- 25 gold to purchase the Naturalist role (Location at Strawberry inn to prompt the NPC dialogue / or access from RDO lobby)
- 2 new role NPC that camps out in the wilderness for you to turn in your studies / hunting trophies
- Legendary animals now roam RDO
- New fur clothing / Rifle & bow
- Animal spawn fixes (spawns more frequently, fixes the previous animal spawning issue)

manage to finish the outlaw pass burning the midnight oil a few nights in a row including spending a day off work grinding.

Not really that hard if you have all the roles unlocked, but most importantly the collectors role for that sweet 1500XP when you turn in a full set collection. With the recent update patch, they've updated some of the collectibles to spawn randomly instead of a fixed cycled location; but some sets are still intact and they've added 3 new fossils collectibles set up north in Ambarino.

Having that said, the trader role resupply missions that yields 500XP and 48min per moonshine runs that yields 847XP helped greatly too.

What I always do before the outlaw pass but with much ease since they patched/fixed a few things and in order :

- daily challenges
- camp upkeep / supply runs for that 500XP / deliveries once production completed
- making sure moonshine runs 24/7 nonstop / moonshine deliveries once production completed
- legendary bounties ( once per hour )
- legendary animal mission
- on call story mission / stranger missions
- completing the 1-3 lacking items of collectibles ( I don't really collect exclusively and you can loot from dead bodies easily )
- freeroam events / join random posse / showdown modes
- wander mindlessly taking in the view & stalking randos with a scope ( fun starts when they start shooting at you without provocation )

and since with the naturalist update, maybe sedate an animal or two while doing all the above if I come across an easy target.

The latest 1.21 update patch broke the game for majority/all PS4 players. Not longer than 15minute per session before you crash the game or experience disconnection. Even if you're able to stay in the server there's no animal spawn, camp not setting up, ghost towns & NPC glitching. This is 2 weeks after the latest Naturalist update and stability and bug issues fixed during 1.21 ... Rockstar really grinding my gears ...

You're still able to login and maintain your daily streak by doing one or two dailies if you're lucky, but other than that ...

Rockstar has been keeping up with their weekly Tuesday update after the Naturalist update on the 28th of July by adding in legendary animals every week into the existing legendary pool; with the latest Legendary Banded Gator.


by far the easiest sighting mission, since the gator has a static spawn even in solo mission sessions, you'll only have to ride out from Saint Denis and investigate a clue near the waters and a yellow question mark will appear on your mini map alerting you that the gator has spawned.

The gator doesn't go down easily, around 6 Express ammo from a Carcano rifle depending on your loadout and will take more to sedate it with sedation rounds if you're after it's blood sample. Maintain a safe distance or your horse will buck you off as gator chowder.

That's only 20 gold bars compared to the original 25 gold bars needed to begin the Naturalist role. Take this opportunity to invest in the Naturalist role before the discount gets removed next Tuesday.

However will Rockstar continue their update streak after this soon to come Halloween update is questionable as per usual Rockstar refuse to communicate with their players and GTO being their golden child in contrast with RDO. Players resort to data mining instead of official announcements by Rockstar which is just poor taste coming from a company that make multi millions & praised across the gaming industry.

Last years 6 months hiatus post-Moonshiner frontier update was expected giving R* the benefit of doubt, development was heavily affected due to the pandemic with their team based in NY; we've been having a good run since Naturalist released with constant update every Tuesday on new legendary animals, hardcore series & new clothing/cosmetic items introduced. Hopefully Rockstar will continue the good work and as the players we're only able to have so much faith. Hopefully it's not another 6 month hiatus after this Halloween update.

Latest addition to the Legendary animals is 2 different species of bears which are notably aggressive much like the Grizzly (A reskin). Keep your left thumb on the R3 button when your horse is agitated and maintain a distance, use a shotgun or Elephant rifle for mid range and as always Carcano with express rounds recommended to snipe from a distance.

both their spawn points are close to the Dakota and Little Creek river so use that to your advantage as their movement slows down while crossing the river. Engage them by getting a headshot first and cross the river placing yourself strategically and rain bullets on them. Expect to kite them as they're both very bulky tanky and it'll take more than 4 well placed headshots with express rounds depending on your loadout.

unfortunately they're both free roam Legendaries, so you won't be able to make them spawn via Harriet receivable missions.




...and as usual the weekly discounts/bonuses:
- All Outlaw Pass holders will receive a free Treasure Map to help them pad their wallets.
- 40% discounts on all Vests and Shirts, as well as the Advanced Camera.

adequate update for this week, the bears especially ... not that excited for the bunny transform especially when it's gonna cost 8GB but 40% off vest is nicee.

October seems like a good month for contents.

still too soon for the Halloween contents to be rolled out considering the fact that the current outlaw pass expires in another week, which means next Tuesday we can expect great things. Fingers crossed.

Easier to complete this pass since for the full reward we're looking at just 20,000XP. Just turn in your collector sets and you'll max it in no time. Highlights would be the new Moonshiner bar theme and Eye bandages for me since the rolling block comes second to the Carcano (ashame really because that variant looks sick). Ohh and horse mask. Haven't got the opportunity to stumble upon the panthers yet since large lobbies are back online.
