My SA in Ipoh managed to fish a black TC-P, it will be in my possession by end of this month. I took a different route, instead of coating, i will sent my car to do a full color change car wrap. Anyone has ever done this before?

thats another alternative, how much will it cost? and the wrap is matt surface right?
*
The price is definitely more expensive than re-paint, i might not want to go for the matte. Probably going to the more "premium" brushed steel finishes.

Starting price for a good quality wrap and service cost about 4k onwards.

sorry didn't managed to fix the url... little help please.

so i bet the colour will change right? need to tell JPJ about the colour change?
*
In this case, the base color of the car has not been altered. Basically the original paint work is still there and it is being fully protected by a layer of wrap. As far i check in JPJ websites it doesn't state any regulation regarding this.

My SA says honda wouldn't impose any warranty issue for this either since it is a "coating", to be on the safe side before i install the wrap, better check with the insurance company.

thinking to wrap my incoming civic with xpel film....is it worth?
*
Apparently i'm not the only one who planned that. Have you done your research? What kind of wrap you aim for, e.g. protection clear wrap or color change wrap?

clear wrap lor...no need to change color
*
How much was the quoted price? Wrap can protect the paint as the wrap is more sturdy than coating solution, however i'm not sure will it gives the shine effect as coating does.

Finally my car coating, tinting "gao tim" (done).  Tomorrow should be able to get my 1.5tc.  But I still need to return back to the service centre after 1 week to install body kits.

According to SA, the body kits parts have yet to arrive. sad.gif

If this is the case, after install bodykit will they re-coat for you?

Oh I was quite sure its from the UK?

Anyway, their warranty is 2 yrs but for the promo I got it with a 4 yr warranty. Those going for the group buy can also ask for the 4 yr warranty. RV is quite accommodating.

But whats also important is the after care. That's where RV is a step above others. E.g their Auto Bath Club is only RM60 / mth for unlimited washes. So if ure staying nearby its good value.
*
Auto Bath Club is open to public or they run it as membership kind of thing?

Its open to all. U can sign up even if u don't do the coating there.

You sign up online with your credit card. Its billing directly to your cc every 30 days.
*
RM60 / mth with unlimited washes seems like little too cheap for their workmanship. Really putting this into consideration.

Yupe, right now this is the must read forum space, all important information and findings and possibly the best sifus are here. Also the best place to stalk civic before i get my hand on my own, just heard news my black car has arrived too, undergoing those usual procedures at dealer side.

I would say the black RS style looks better on light colors like White, Silver vs darker colors like Modern Steel or Black... chrome more outstanding in those case.

I agree. nod.gif

Should also wrap the bottom part of the black grill.  RS has gloss black for both top and bottom sections.  Doing half gloss and half matte looks too DIY if you ask me.  Lost some of the classy look.
*
Sadly the bottom part cannot be wrap, already ask the wrapper. The surface is too rough for gloss finishes unless you sand and apply proxy until absolutely smooth.

I'm having Android Auto issue, so far not many poeple here mentioned. My AA don't work, car HU indicates no USB connected. A very long post ago, one of our forum member mentioned restarting car HU by holding the start button, it does work after restart, but when i disconnect the USB then it will not work anymore until the next HU hard reset.

Anyone that having no issue or what so ever with AA mind share what phone are u using?

*HU = head unit a.k.a touch screen
