That was me. I had on and off problems with it. But now ok once I set up and use it properly.

Did you manage to use it the first time?
*
Use it for few times, but whenever i want to use i have to hard reset the HU, even i connect the USB prior to ignition won't work either.
I did exit the app using the head unit before i stop the car.

You don't have any issue like this? What phone are u using for AA?

I had lots of issues. So I really had to learn and adjust to set it up properly. I even had to format my phone 2x

I use a Sony Xperia z5.

Here's what you can try:
1. Go to HU settings into android auto settings and enable your device. Chances are, your device was disabled.

If that doesn't work

1. Delete and reinstall android auto on your device
2. Delete your device from the android auto settings
3. Restart your phone
4. Restart head unit
5 connect and try

Worst case, do all above but reformat your phone instead.

After I did that everything seems to work perfectly fine now.

Thanks for that precious information, at least we know out there AA does work properly. To many variables causes the AA doesn't work, it could been anything from USB cable to Android version.

I'm using mi note 3, was about to flash my phone luckily i found out it doesn't work even after flashing. I'm seriously considering buying a vanilla android nexus phone.

By the way, did u managed to use AA voice search/command? My AA doesn't work like how we can use Google Now, suppose we can sent whatsapp messages through speaking with the car.

i can test it out for you once i get my car. i have spare nexus 5 and currently using nexus 6p

Thanks! biggrin.gif By the way, it is quite something when android auto is working. I kinda fond of the AA/Apple Car play concept, also it does integrated with the car than just mirror screen.

2) start recording when the car is hit when parking.
3) optional, dual channel (2 cam, one in front, one in the back)
4) optional, GPS

You need to know how much you're willing to spend on dashcam.

For 2 & 3, you can look for Korean dashcam as they are they best for dual dashcam and parking mode. But not cheap.

Dual dashcam from China cannot compare with Korean dashcam at the moment...

I've currently reviewed the mini0807 and the parking mode is working nicely and it's plugged to the OBDII port instead using a hardwire kit.

You can check my profile of the dashcams reviewed in LYN...

Another thing, most local shops are selling China dashcams and you can get them online like taobao, aliexpress, gearbest and banggood for way way cheaper.

Korean dashcam is very rare unless you look for them in JB or SG.

Taiwan dashcam like Transcend, Papago or Garmin, need to research a bit as their price is not cheap. Some are good.

Branded dashcam like Philips or Blaupunkt is expensive and you can get better specs dashcam from China for the same price.

Thank you. I'll go check your review.
My budget is not decided yet, if the functionality and quality of the dashcam is good, i won't mind increase my budget.

Anyone here got dashcam installed?

Better be careful with dash cams and reverse cams especially with cars controlled by ECU's.

I installed a 3rd reverse cam on my new BMW and it messed up the on board electronics. Had to get it removed. I've now installed the original BMW reverse cam. Cost me RM4,715.

Might not be an issue with the Civic but best get it checked carefully before installation.

Thanks for the info, i'll keep this in mind.

haha, wonder now still no have accessories shop selling hdmi bypass for civic~~i want to mirror link to hu from my phone T_T

found that jdm technik from facebook can turn your hu system to android system, and allow mirrorlink but need rm1600+ quite exp

Our civic default HU is already android, like an android tablet. So don't turn your HU system into android again.
I believe some might already knew that our HU runs on android 4.2.2, thus this translate a couple of things we can do to your HU like example changing the default HU screen wallpaper into live wallpaper, connect wifi and browse.

I'm didn't play much with it yet, maybe just maybe we can install waze into our HU via USB that is compatible with android 4.2.2 unless the HU is program to reject app installation.

Guys, i like to share some information/research that i have recently found for our HU. Our HU is actually an android tablet running on Andriod 4.2.2, manufacture by Mitsubishi Electric which is software controlled and restrict by Honda.
So since it is a tablet can we install APK into the HU like angry bird on our HU? Answer is NO (maybe not yet). Many of you might have already discover that is an option to allow us to install APK via USB, just don't bother to try that it is restricted.

As for those who drive HRV, CRV which their HU is running on Android 4.0 they can do so, there's a way to by pass (hack) and install WAZE or any compatible app into their car.

I have read over 92 pages of Android xda forum, there is still no solution to by pass or hack our HU to install APK, but it is possible someone might able to hack it in xda in the near future.

so u can install pokemon go on ur civic  rclxm9.gif  gotta catch em all

Haha, that is the most worrying part, i secretly hope that pokemon Go does not get released in M'sia( Don't curse me sweat.gif ) . Because u cannot control other road user to play pokemon and neglect road safety, i would imagine the accident rate would be a lot higher for M'sia.

i wanna install a sub. but not those loud loud ah beng boom box without voiding warranty..

got what recommendation?

There is an quick fix that might able to help you without installing or mod.
I don't know much about audio but there is a setting in honda diagnosis mode to let u set DSP (Digital Signal Processor) FLAT.
Some claim it sounds a lot better.

Here's what u need to do (be warned: try at your own risk)
hold the brightness button on the top, the power button, and the menu button all at the same time. To enter diagnosis mode/menu

then follow the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUmIXOscwg0

teach me how to upload video sifus..

When you use open tag for YouTube and closing tag, make sure don't provide the http:// just provide the code between open and closing tag.
