Just came back from a day trip KL - Ipoh - KL with 4 adults in the car. First highway drive. Managed to hit 150kmph at certain stretches on the return trip. Even had the pleasure of driving in the rain for the first time. Also, took the trunk road for about 40km to avoid the heavy traffic on the NSE.

I must say im quite impressed with the handling and steering feel. If I didn't know it was a Honda, I might have thought it was a conti. Felt very confident driving the car. Although the car is relatively light (approx. 1.25 tonnes), the suspension is firm enough to prevent significant body roll at tight corners and yet soft enough to provide a very comfortable ride. Except for the noise from the tyres, there is very little other road noise penetrating the cabin. Even wind noise from the side mirrors is limited.

I also really liked the wipers. Very smooth and effective despite the large windscreen. Better than even my BMW wipers I must say.

I guess the 2 drawbacks I experienced was firstly the limitation of the 1.8S engine. Mid range acceleration ability is limited so fast overtaking was difficult. But this is easily overcome if you use Sports mode (albeit with increased fuel consumption for sure).

The 2nd drawback was the halogen lights. After being accustomed to HID headlights (Kia Optima K5) since 2012 and LED (BMW) now, I needed a bit of getting used to. Found myself turning on the high beam a lot when I was on the trunk road.

My whole trip today consumed slightly more than half tank of fuel. Didn't use the fill-measure-fill method so can't be certain of the exact consumption.

(P/S No rattling or any defects so far)

Overall, it is still a continental cars. In terms of handling, performance and safety, those BMW, Mercedes or Audi got certain level of reliability. Or else why a person paid premium cost for a vehicle that give them satisfaction? An entry level brand new Japanese cars only cost RM60k ++ whereas a brand new Continental cars cost around RM180k ++ for basic spec. For normal driving condition (~110km/h), Japanese cars is sufficient enough to travel from point A to B. Whereas those enthusiast that preferred dynamic driving performance...can upgrade to Continental cars.

I do hope Honda vehicles equipped with FR instead of FF. This setup not only fun to drive but also great handling. Not understand why Japanese cars maker opt for FF instead of FR setup for specific models.

I know all about effective rates which is why I still say don't waste money reducing car loans. Why do u think I always go for 90% max 9 yrs loan?

There are many investments out there with varying levels of risk which also provide potentially much higher returns.

(p/s: FD is not an investment vehicle anymore. Most ppl either 'invest' in FD to offset inflation or because they dont know what else to pump their money into. Even then nowadays FD returns are not enough to offset inflation)

JPJ will use their new tint guidelines to rake in more money for their coffers. They are getting more and more desperate by the day. I would strongly suggest you stick to JPJ compliant tints.

Anyway Llumar Diamond 6 is for safety with good heat rejection. I would think having 50% VLT is dangerous for side windows especially at night.

Getting my civic by this week, but not yet decide what tint to go for. The ecotint 1500 as per spec provided by Honda seem like a very good deal. Anyone have experience with it? Plz share some review. Or anyone with any recommendations on other brand cost around 1.5k to 2k plz pm or message me too
