Morning all taikos,
I would like to ask what is the chances for us Malaysian to work in Singapore nowadays? After all the levy and etc....
I am from banking sales background (mostly), thinking to go SG work as banking back office support/customer services/ or other possibility.
Anyone of you got any advise for me this newbie?
Btw, i have a quick look through on the first page it is very informative. Thanks TS.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jul 18 2016, 09:07 AM) As you can see from responses in this thread, lots of Malaysians still getting jobs in SG. But for your target of banking back office ... very little chance. For starters, most banks are in the process of moving (or have already moved) BO roles to cheaper places. On top of that, BO entry level is unspecialized, so there's plenty of supply from local SC/SPR fresh grads. Same story with CS. It's not impossible, no harm trying, just want to set the right expectations. Thanks for the piece of advise. I am setting my expected salary around SGD2.4k. i guess its reasonable? After deducting all the expenses and rental, i guess not much left.

QUOTE(Ultimaweapon @ Jul 18 2016, 09:29 AM) What are your general qualifications? Working experiences etc.? I'm just asking to see if the salary fits your profile. S$2.4k doesn't seem quite right. And yes, you won't have much left. Given all the perfect conditions (which is possible), you maybe able to save about 1-1.2k I think. hi, i am a diploma holder from a local college. Worked as bank sales staff for 3 years, HR learning and development coordinator 2 years, property agent 2 years+ what do you think?

QUOTE(Ultimaweapon @ Jul 18 2016, 09:58 AM) Then S$2.4k is reasonable I guess. You can try S$2.5-2.6k too since you have some work experience. Although, you'll have to do some market research I think. Try this site:- http://www.payscale.com/research/SG/Job=Sa...ssociate/SalaryThank you for the info. Will go home and check the website for more information.

QUOTE(KilJim @ Jul 18 2016, 10:07 AM) If you dont mind doing sales, that should be easier to get Banking/insurance sales are still highly in demand i believe Dont mind to try, but not sure if i can handle difficult customers in SG. Plus i feel turn over for bank sales staff is very high (based on my experience in MY)
