if you want to open OCBC 360 account and deposit your salary in for higher interest, better do it fast with SGD1000 and the house address, or else you can't even open the 360 acc

I am looking to open a saving account in Sg. Frankly speaking, my banking transactions are not much (less than $2K per month). Can anyone here recommends me that what kind of saving account should I take into my consideration.

Of course, I welcome all of you to share your saving account preference too if possible.

Cheers  nod.gif

For easier online transfer of money to Malaysia -> DBS
For higher interest rate (provided u use it for salary acc) -> OCBC

These are the local bank with many branches available.

Of course you still can choose CIMB, Bank of China, Stanchart and any others for your specific preference. Or else stick to local bank would be better.

Yupe. Thanks. I thought the bank open on Saturday, right ?

you got to check the branch you going to open on Saturday or Sunday or not

Most of the bank attached in a shopping mall open 7 days

Those not at the shopping mall and not in CBD area Saturday open until 12pm or 1pm, cant remember

Those in the CBD area weekends are not opened.

Need to check online the opening hours and days.

Hi guys, am planning to look for a job in SG, was wondering if you guys could share whether should resign here and go there, then look for a job? Or do I look for a job here first. Also, are the odds of getting a job higher if I go to a headhunter?

I am working in the finance line with an investment bank, ie commodities trading with 7 years experience only.

What kind of commodities you trade? Oil trade is the dream job of most fresh grad here.

If you were to choose soft or agri commodities, still have chance.

I believe you trade CPO? Believe there are few companies hiring here, good luck to you !

Airfare somewhat negligible honestly but the time spent waiting in airports suck. Actual flight less than an hour but it takes another hour to get home from KLIA. Jauh giler.

Wife has her own career in KL lah.

You can choose to take fireflyz, of course flying home from changi waiting time is the same due to big airport, but then flying from Subang airport actually not time consuming at all, 7am flight time 630am can arrive in Subang and go straight to the gate.

Somemore Subang is nearer to the place I stay, get Ubet/grab is cheaper and family to pick you up is easier as well.

Tendered resignation twice before and after giving birth. My boss gave in to let me bring the baby to work with the nanny and work at home if no meeting in office. Was very career minded but materialistic and career achievement is nothing compared to the baby. First standing up, first walk, first word, first any sai I was there. So much happier.

Want has no end one. Got one house want a bigger one, got 1 car want a 2nd one. Finally just settled with what we have and I going to resign once my boss find a replacement to take over. Eat porridge also happy.

Are you just focusing on bank compliane or risk?

There are many commodities firm in Sg also looking for compliance/risk officer, maybe you can try that as well.
