QUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 23 2016, 03:25 PM) u single or married?usual SGD1k spending per month for single would be on the high side.... I am single, but i am currently dating.Saving SGD1.6k per month...would be still much much better than trying to save up RM4000 back in MY.....every SGD dollar save its MYR3+/- dating expenses is not that high, 2-3 times eat restaurants a week, maybe thats why got to 1k/mth. my gf spilt the bill with me sometimes cause she earn slightly less then me. I also do go overseas as well for holidays, usually that is using my annual bonus.. go aussie, china, taiwan, japan etc... my bonus (>4 mth) is enough for me to go overseas 2-3 times a year. the rest i save. 1k breakdown is roughly $20 for 3 meals a day (600), transport (120), phone bill (50), discretionary spending (200+) like movies, buying clothes, toilet accessories etc... i am currently using a iphone app to track my expenses so it is fairly accurate. QUOTE(knwong @ Aug 23 2016, 06:40 PM) Why la this thread always talk about how to save money. Talk la on how to spend. Like where is good Makan place. Where to hang out sweee...! i like.i go food hunting usually. restaurants i keep to minimum cause all too ex. cafe hop occasionally only. maybe good food reminds me of my home in msia there are some nice food in sg, notably the tiong bahru market, amoy st, jurong yuhua market also okok... it depends on what u like to eat reallly. i go too many places that i cant recommend all at one go! |

QUOTE(internaldisputes @ Aug 25 2016, 08:21 PM) hi guys. i'm getting frustrated at getting no favorable response after sending my resumes to so many companies for a post of architect assistant. i've been jobless for almost 7 months now after finishing my degree in january. working in singapore sounds intimidating but the idea seems more and more attractive by the day. i'm gonna read this thread and do my research and hopefully i won't have to become a disappointment to my family any longer soon. try to get a placing in singapore first. jobs are getting lesser by the day and the employment passes threshold is getting higher and limited every yeari suppose the labour market is extremely saturated and competitive right now? i'm not picky and willing to work anything but i bet whatever i apply, thousands of people will apply too and it's a scary thought. for the salary u will not be disappointed compared to working in msia. the more impt question is what can u offer versus ur peers AND singaporeans AND other nationalities that will make the sg company choose u instead of everyone else? think from the perspective of the singaporean company. in my company its very meritocratic and they are more willing to hire msian (cause is msian company duh) but other MNCs are not so generous. |
