i want to be like you. What a legend, man  ohmy.gif

No need legend. You just need to buy and hodl the right companies.
Companies like Brookfield, Arthur J Gallagher are non tech and if you just buy and hodl easily few x.

Everyone thinks have to hodl tech.

BN or BAM? Already up a lot in 1 year. Still worth it to buy now? Or wait for pullback?
*
BN. BAM was also one of those that I almost 2x. Or course must be ready to play the long game of waiting at least 5y

Legend?  blush.gif

There are many many more legend here.

It's a simple tactic. Invest and hold a good company. And this comapny is just around you.

Example Google. You makan, tidur also Google. I hold 5yrs and it's 250% today with an annual 27%.
*
Problem is people want to get rich quick aka get rich by Tuesday. Not many want to hold like 5 years.

I sit down now, type and think back, Damn, it's already 5yrs. Feel like just yesterday.

5yrs is not long. But you miss the 5yrs and thinking back now, yes it's a long mistake.

Cannot blame this people either. They go through Bursa way of gambling. Cannot trust the other side to hold your money. The best is money is in your pocket. Aka cash.

When trading, you're gambling with another side person and hoping your card is better than theirs. Nothing to do with the company.
*
Not only bursa. Whole world like that. If I am not a buy and hold, I wouldn't be getting current gains. There are good stocks on bursa also that require you to buy and hold.

5 weeks ago, I mentioned on this forum that xpev posted good results, and that I am going to buy this stock. I did.  My previous trading method is once it reaches 20% of my cost, I sell to lock in profits. I have decided that this method won't rake in the big bucks. Buy and hold is the way to go. I expect further gains for this stock tonight.

Maybe we can share specific trade ideas here. It's best its not too general. It's easy to say buy X share, but we want to know at what price X share should be bought!  Ideas from others broaden our perspective and think of new and alternative ways of profiting from the markets.
*
Like that you better sub for trade alerts so you copy trade 😂
There are lots of trader providing such service real time trade alerts. Of course need to pay la.

Don't trade. Just buy and hodl. You can get at least 5x easily over 10-20 years time.

I don't subscribe for these real time trade alerts. But reading Seeking Alpha so long as it's free is fine for me. That day on X, someone offered to let me copy his trades, and in return, he gets 20% of the profits. Wants to link my account to his. Fat hopes I do that!
*
You don't need to share profit. You can just copy his trades.

Eg is the travelling trader. He will post his trade on discord. 5o gain access to his trades you need to cough up some money for monthly sub or annual sub.

Never heard of the travelling trader. Will check it out. I used to subscribe to Dan Fitzpatrick about 3 years ago. He's quite good: not a fundamental guy but more a TA guy. He and Scott are on X. I think I will follow him now. Haven't listen to his tips for more than 3 years now.
*
I am not a trader. I buy and hodl. Just by doing simple buy and hodl I already 4x some of my investment. No trading involved.

Just wonder hold since when for your 4x return?

I started 2022. So far only google i hold is more than 100% (103%).

Actually you were the one who “inspire” me to bought google that time, before split. You mention about easier to do option, so i follow your advise and bought 1.
*
Thanks.

Crowdstrike is my only 4x
I got lots of 2-3x. The trick is BTFD. If it dips keep buying. Don't be scared. Keep buying. Keep buying the falling knife. It's ok you will cut your hand. It's normal. Keep buying as wealth is build in a red market.

Ah ok. Are you using interactive broker? Cos the terms seems similar...

That's the scary part. Margin call automatically reduce one's position. Some more no time to react or decide what to cut.

I am using Tiger

Excess Liquidity is a common term. All brokers uses it

The key part is reduce some position before Excess Liquidity hits zero.
*
Tiger uses IBKR as their backend.

Both serve different purpose. As a general safer all rounder VOO is better for DCA and put and forget. Whereas QQQ is more focus on wealth accumulation

Imagine you are in your 60s, your goal is financial preservation rather growth. Are you able to handle a possible 70% ETF drawdown that required 10+ years to recover ? So there is no perfect answer, but i would say S&P500 is the more safer all weather choice

You can if all your life you have been exposed to volatility or you don't depend on the value of your portfolio to survive.

which platform is the best and cheapest to invest in QQQ monthly?

FSM? IBKR? Moo2?

IBKR. If you want cheaper tasty trade. But you have to bear the bank expensive exchange rate.

If QQQ is down 70%, then SPX should be down at least 50%. Not that much safer.

That's what I learn as majority of the S&P500 returns are powered by tech.

actually, when something like yday happened, all bets are off.

the put holder may choose to exercise the option because it wanted to get rid of its nvda position...

Trading vs Exercise cutoff time is different.

But hopefully he didn't get exercised of course...  nod.gif
*
Not really. For put if not in the money system will not assign it. Buyer can manually choose to exercise it. Also after hours it's entirely up the buyer to manually exercise it.
