I look at Free Cash Flow. Earning an be manipulated by accounting rules. FCF shows the actual cash available - which can invest in growth, share buyback, takeovers etc.

lol I don’t need to bet my house for that 😂. But my account shorting limit has already almost at peak and I can’t short any more unless I pump in more colleteral.

Chinese ADR on fire.

To me, TSLA is nothing but a snake oil company with a narcissistic CEO. The rampant increase of BAIDU and BABA in my portfolio adds to my shorting power. If he really buy more, I short more.

The last time I heavily short TSLA was last year Dec, I remember I short around USD400 and it went up further around 15-20% if not mistaken. I held on my short position for a good 3-4 months and finally close around USD250. I have sufficient collateral, so I still sleep soundly at night.

I believe Bill Gates hold on to his short position for TSLA even longer - a year or even more. How about you ChAOoz, curious how long have you held your short position for TSLA?

To the one who have cold sweat, can't eat and sleep because of 1.44% change, better stick to ETF.

Good for you. As Elon and TSLA hater, I’m not selling, will increase my short position if breach 500. YTD I’m up almost 70% now due to BAIDU and UNH so I’m comfortable to take some risk.

Don’t be naive thinking my short is because of my feeling towards TSLA. I’m shorting because I think this company is overpriced. Did you buy if you’re so confident that Tesla is going to reach $500 towards the end of the year?

Let’s just agree that you do your thing and I do mine. Sounds like you’re obsessed with my short and I’m living in your head rent free. I never care less about other’s trade. If I listen to the noise of strangers, public or “Wall Street” I will still be holding dearly to NVDA and not trading it with BABA/BIDU - which double my investment this year itself.

Even if I end up losing money on shorting TSLA, I’m ok with that because it’s purely my trading decision and it’s part of my calculated risk - rather than listening to “Wall Street” or forumers.

Yes to that. I have a lot of short positions to close.

Not really if you know the game and have the holding power. I hedge using call options for my shorts.

Cannot compare equities with crypto la. Crypto investments is the one I’m holding forever cause I don’t really understand it. So I just buy and forget about it.
