Dear sifus,

I want to set up something like this:-

http://techblog.thepcharbor.com/wp-content...11/01/unifi.png

How can I further add wireless access points? at which point? to the TP-LINK TL-R480T+?

My house is split into three floors:-

Ground Floor
On the ground floor there is a utility closet which houses the tnb db board and that is where the unifi comes in so I will need to put the fiber modem there. This closet is also where the existing wired connections around the house terminates.

On this same floor about 5m away is the study room which I want to have wired connections for desktops and the networked printer.

Should I put the managed switch and router in the next to fiber modem in the closet or in the study room?

There is a tv at the ground floor hall that I want to have the hypptv connection (wired connection terminates in db closet).

First Floor
At this floor I want to have my android box set up (wired connection terminates in db closet) and wireless capability

Second Floor
At this floor I want to have wireless capability and master bedroom has (existing wired connection to tnb closet, to be used for cctv)

I hope you can further enlighten me on the way forward.

You do need a managed switch after your BTU if your router supports VLAN tagging.

Ok, and I should I connect the Ground floor wireless ap directly to the router(shown in red)

Is the rest of the set up ok?

Does a managed switch really help?

And we if use one do we connect it to the BTU or to the Broadband Router?

Do you need so many wireless AP?
i think 1 @ GF and another @ 2fl should be sufficient.

The broadband router at GF has wireless capability right?
Can just use that as AP.
but looking at your router connection..you need 6 port router  tongue.gif
think you can connect the DVR to the 2F AP (with LAN ports)
reduce 1 number connection.
cut the AP at 1F (reduce another connection)

that should do it

Thanks...

The broadband router has no wireless capability

Some network cable already laid by developer cat5e (cctv, android box and hypptv)

I will need to add only for wireless ap and link from db closet to study
