Hi guys, appreciate some advice if possible. Here's the situation;

1) Upgraded to 30MB unifi but rarely get 20mb. Mostly 10-15mb only on wifi.
2) Staying in small apartment (850sqf). Router is located in living room while my room is just behind the living room wall - I dont close my door at all.
3) My router sometimes restart by itself and sometimes internet connection is very slow (talking bout dload speed of 100kpbs) - I have to restart my modem/router to solve this on daily basis.
4) Called unifi technical team and they attend twice but problem recurring again after few days. One of the technician advise me to get a better router as the set that I'm using is more than 3 years old already.

My question is, what should I get to a good 30mb connection in my room? I'm using a pc with a tp-link wifi adapter connected to it in my room.

Been reading a few post and few member mentioned about Asus RT-n66u as a router replacement. Is this a good solution? My budget is around Rm700-Rm1000 to fix this issue if possible.

Many thanks in advance.

Could be also your WiFi adapter issue.
LAN OK? If that's also an issue, then pressure TM to replace router for you.

Sorry, I dont have any Lan cable for testing. Have to buy quite a long cable to test it from my pc to the living room. Think I should buy the Lan cable to test first? Or just skip and get a new router?

Bro, u r using 1 power line to extend too much power... sometimes share too much electricity with only 1 power socket can cause a lot issue.. Please, for ur own good and other people good, try get electric technician to help you do more power socket from fuse hub to the place you prefered, safety first.

Anyway if you just upgraded to 30mbps, and contract restarted with 2 years contract, then you can call TM to get DIR-850L router replacement, just try ur luck. If really can't then you can consider Asus RT-N12HP, which is considered best within budget. But remember if your area is too congested with a lot wireless, den you better consider AC router, like D-Link DIR-850L which is provided by TM.

Feel you but at this moment, this is the only option that I have. Phone line is next to the socket and hiring another technician seems like a messy paperwork for my condo mgmt. Anyway, I'm using a plug in circuit breaker so it should be ok to stop any electricity issue.

Yes, just upgraded to 30mb with a renewed 2 years contract around 1-2 month ago. Thanks for the recommendation of DIR-850L router. WIll also have a look at Asus RT-N12HP.

All in all, from your point of view, would replacing a new router solve my issue?

Hi guys, decided to upgrade to RT-AC68U to get the 30MB unifi connection (currently on average 15MB via wifi).

Can recommend me a good & affordable wifi adapter for my PC? Wanna utilize the 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi router capability so I presume that I needed a good wifi adapter that's support 802.11ac dual-band signal too?

Considering the short distance from the router to your room, just buy lan cable and problem solved.

Why dont you just change your wifi router? What type of house are you living in? If condo or apartmemt, then just buy TL-WR841N for only at RM65+, if your house is big, then just choose TL-WR841HP, RM150+. You dont have to buy any AC router as you only have the speed of 30Mbps. AC router is designed for giving speeds which is more than 300mbps.

You dont have to change the wifi adapter but you must make sure that its firmware isup to date.

Btw, I found a video about WR841N.

And here's the link to buy from official TP-Link.
