A lot of games out there have monster GPU but get framelocked because you're CPU bound. There's a huge upper range we support with what we've done." I also jacked up settings beyond my rig's near-ultra default and dropped the resolution to 1440p, which still looked gorgeous and rocked a 60fps refresh. I didn't have as much luck pushing some of the settings into the menus' crazy-high "insane" setting, which might be because, according to Raynor, that setting has been offered for future systems and SLI power users: "The game will scale with new hardware that will come out," he said. "You need a really high spec to get in there. It looks awesome, but it's very GPU-hungry." (While I couldn't test Raynor's assertions that the game has been optimized to make the most of SLI graphics card performance, he insisted that users would see substantial boosts if they double-card.) the download is stupid .... several days i try download on store and it keep resetting itself, start from 0mb again.... now im using IDM to download directly the game preload is 72gb+, whole game after active is 80gb+ @@
those with small SSD habis lor lol..... here is a trick im using, the problem occurs for slow connection and most windows store games, STORE is pure garbage... they need better optimization and support like steam or just remove it...  » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Go give it a try guys, as long u got the photo copy for the receipt and serial number of your card, date of purchase is not a issue(for my case at least), just fill in the date u like (exp : 2+ September)and try summit. I got mine free gow4 redeem code from Palit last week after a day i summit the photo n info....it works ! even i bought my card at July....

Hi all, I had issues install GOW4 as well. The easiest fix will be reinstalling/refreshing your Windows 10 without affecting any of your files. Just download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft website and start from there.

Managed to finished the download yesterday night with 2hrs++. cause already downloaded 23GB the day before. However, the stupid MS Store decided to install it into my c:\ SSD which has a very limited space. It is very unnerving to see the storage space getting smaller and smaller until windows prompted the low space warning. I have to fight moving or removing other app. and games. to else where. Shit.
What really beat me was I remembered that I have specifically selected D:\ (due to space constrain, it actually did asked me to install to other drive instead of C:\) but how come after a suspended download and resumed later, the Store decided to install it into my c:\? So much for MS store, too many bugs and glitches and very confusing to use especially for cross buy titles. Guess I will never touch this dreaded store after this. |

Look at 10min onwards... my goodness the texture and grahpics really ps3 era with AA and some slighty better shadows only ... even the Hammer damage on the boss ... the damage blood and meat just pop up from the character object, its not even render with it, just like pop in.. no physics and interaction with original render object.. i mean how lazy is that!!  ..... ohh man Epic development is sorely missed... from this prologue quality alone...4k max setting = ps3 era graphics but 80gb of hdd space needed This post has been edited by Hwoarang45: Oct 8 2016, 12:25 PM |

finally manage to run this game on rather old pc
CPU - AMD Phenom II X2 B45 unlocked 4 cores Memory - 16GB DDR 3 GPU - AMD 7850 1GB HDD - 250GB SSD able to reach 60fps in 720p  of course no more eye candies, only core game play looking forward to upgrade the card soon |

the chapter and none save option really a pain playing the prologue esp in harder difficulty ,the ai cheats.. so many one hit instant death kill.... and kena restart from whole checkpoint again.... waaa... i kena so many cheap death... and u happen to accidentally pickup a weapon u dont like during checkpoint auto save habis lor u have to suck with it or restart whole chapter lol... in this day of age i taught manual save was suppose to be a common standard or atleast better auto save points..

guys,
wanna share something i found that if you take sometime to download using IDM (pause and continue/slow rate) as per instruct by @Hwoarang45, the Microsoft url that IDM catch early will be reset and unable to continue (error) and u need to download all over again. here is the tips, let say the 1st download IDM creating a temp folder name "tlu_dl_delivery_mp_microsoft_com_1" and then got error to continue after downloading eg 50%, DON'T DELETE IT Do it again the step that Hwoarang45 gave, IDM should create another temp folder called "tlu_dl_delivery_mp_microsoft_com_2" (give 1 minute to download) then exit IDM, go to the temp folder and rename "tlu_dl_delivery_mp_microsoft_com_1" to "tlu_dl_delivery_mp_microsoft_com_2". The temp folder of "tlu_dl_delivery_mp_microsoft_com_2" can be renamed with others eg put 3. Then run again IDM, it should continue the progress of your previous download but not exactly where u left, in my case, got error at 90%, then continue at 75% Hope that help  |

Just bought both Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 4 Windows Store yesterday.
I was able to download the Gears of War 4 by this morning. Will play later this afternoon. 73 gb of download is no joke. Downloading the first Gears of War at the moment, which is about 54gb. |

It is quite easy to move games from HDD to SSD in Windows Store.
Just search for Apps & Features and click on the App you want to move. In my case, Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 4 to my SSD. I will try them once they have been fully moved to my SSD. |

Unfortunately the moving option in Apps & Features doesn't work.
I had to uninstall and reinstall both Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 4 on to my SSD. |

While the Trial is only available for download between June 9th - 15th, the download will keep your 10 hour Game Trial limit until you use it up - even if that's after June 15th. As the Game Trial is delivered as a full download of the game, you'll get instant access to the entire game the second you complete your purchase. You can continue right where you left off. The original Gears of War was fun, but not one of my favourite games. But the odd thing is, why not release the remaining Gears of Wars 2 and 3 in the Windows Store since no. 4 is available there? For those who have not played those 2 games and jumped to no. 4, I wonder if they will find it hard to digest the story unless they go to a GoW wikia page to catch up with the storyline.
CliffyB dy left Epic Games two years ago so what is there to stop them or even Microsoft from doing so? |

It's not difficult to do. Since Gears of War 4 is a Windows 10 app, you'll need to do this within the Windows settings, not from the store itself. I've done it before with no issues.
