I think the best bang for the buck would be sandisk ultra 2 because of the nCAche 2.0 technology which is used on tje ssd itself.... eventhough its a tlc flash... it has the boosting technology something using simulation slc for 10gb .... u can try google it around .... in this technology they can reduce the wear on tlc flashes....besides der is many features on this ssd as well as the software support they are offering...maintenance , optimization and stuff ..the benchmark also shows stable speeds... and u can get it for 246 at lazada .... use coupon raya to get rm50 off ..850 evo is quite expensive and u nid to fork out aroubd 400+ for it..... ive js researched about this sandisk ssd and many review calls it as mainstream ssd ..... many users tells good things about d ssd too ..... again google it for more info on it ... i hope my somewhat poor guide might help u out....do correct me if im wrong at some point .....✌

Usually TLC SSD has small amount of SLC as cache. Once you copy the data more than the cache size, you will experience slow down as the data is being transferred to TLC itself. Here is where it becomes much much slower than MLC.

If you can afford a Samsung 850 Evo, might as well get the Hyper X Savage. The Kingston Hyper X Savage for 240GB is definitely below RM400.
Benefits for Kingston :
1. Convergent as distributor is consider good for after sales service.
2. MLC Toshiba NAND vs TLC Samsung 3D V-NAND
3. Price so much cheaper.

I bought a 480GB version for RM590

I thought Samsung used MLC hmm.gif But why is it their TLC more expensive than MLC?

It might be more practical to get the Hyper X Savage 480GB instead price/GB wise. Warranty is 3 years only compared to Samsung's 5 years right?

For me, SSD is meant to act as a PC booster. Hence, i personally go and buy the Kingston HyperX fury 120GB for about RM17x like that. Seems to be good though, plan to use them for the next 3 years or so until the 480GB or larger capacity prices dropped only go for the bigger SSD capacity.

Also, i was wondering if the SSD is used past their Total Byte Written (TBW) permitted by the manufacturer, will it void the warranty?

for ssd it's either warranty period, or tbw, which ever come first, that invalidates warranty; so yes it will void warranty.

Only the 850 Pro is MLC. 850 Evo is TLC .
Y it is expensive ?
1. Samsung is using 3d v-nand for its 850 series compare to others still using 2d planar nand.
2. 5 years warranty
3. Samsung ssd has high popularity, thts y it is overpriced in m`sia. Overseas 850 Evo is actually one of those best buy bcoz it is very cheap compare to the rest.

Indeed. But IMHO you get what you paid for. Hence the price differences.

Thought of buying that
But try to read Intel 750 ssd review, it has a slow boot problem.
Turns me off from buying.

You can buy two 120GB SSD to combine them into Raid0. The performance will doubled up and better than a single 240GB SSD.

Yeah, I just bought a Lite-on 500GB SSD at a very good price last week. biggrin.gif Haven't decided which rig to put that one into.

Here are some of my SSD. https://www.instagram.com/p/BCAehmHI8gG/

Kingston on main work rig so not part of the pic, another Kingston on work laptop. Lite-On (2 weeks ago) and Colorful (Last week) are new so they're not part of the pics yet.

Never heard this before. I've been raid0 with intel 520 120GB + Kingston V300 120GB for my computer but never heard life span will shorten. First time see got ppl say like that.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-216...pan-drives.html

I got find this answer from google but everybody think the opposite way "increase lifespan". Actually it does not affect much just combine them 120GB+120GB become 240GB. From the bios setting change from AHCI to RAID mode. Then when computer boot, a screen will comes out then press down CTRL+I to enter RAID settings.

My best choice is select RAID 0 mode.

Most people not aware about "RAID 0" due to their computer knowledge still not reach until advanced level. If you are smart enough, RAID 0 two 120GB SSD is better than a single 240GB. SSD is not HDD, their lifespan is better than HDD. I thought you should misunderstand about decrease lifespan. Before SSD exist in this world, last time we are RAID0 two or more HDD. HDD is not same like SSD, when one of the HDD faulty then the rest HDD will all lost it data. However, SSD is different from HDD. So, why don't you RAID it?

With RAID 0, I can get 1000mb/s reading speed instead of the normal AHCI 500mb/s reading speed.

Yes, you can use different brand as long as both SSD are 240GB. You can get 480GB at double reading speed.
