The pre-order page for the Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age Limited Edition Steelbook is now live on Amazon for $49.99 (the same price as the Standard Edition). While we don't know quite yet what the steelbook actually looks like, there is an FFXII panel at 1:30 pm eastern time at PAX East where we might expect to see it revealed.

The listing suggests that the original soundtrack for the game won't be included as default as in Final Fantasy X's HD Remaster, but instead will be unlockable, and possibly DLC. The Amazon listing mentions the inclusion of "a digital code to unlock the original soundtrack background music option in-game". This woud be similar to how Japanese voices were available as dlc for World of Final Fantasy, but were included in limited editions of that game.

Some more details about the remaster from the listing:

    Includes the game, an exclusive steel book featuring artwork by renowned illustrator Akihiko Yoshida, and a digital code to unlock the original soundtrack background music option in-game.

At their PAX East panel, Square Enix unveiled the contents of the Limited Edition Steelbook edition as well as the Square Enix Online Store exclusive Collector's Edition for The Zodiac Age. The Collector's Edition is priced at $199.99/€199.99

Square Enix Japan has posted more screenshots for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, as well as revealing new additions to the remaster that were not present in the International PlayStation 2 version.

Most notably, it is now possible to have a character set with two job classes simultaneously, instead of just one in the International version. Once a character unlocks "L Board Plus" on the License Board, they can then select a second job to complement their abilities. Different combinations of jobs are certain to have some interesting results.

Another small but useful addition is that of a real time transparent map, which can be pulled up to the user interface when exploring the field.

Finally, in addition to redone music from the original game, 8 new tracks will be added to remaster including both boss and field music.

for me it's rather expensive for a remastered game

I wonder why heavyarms stated 21 July though. I mean sure usually our country get copy 2 or 3 days after release but 21 seems too far off.

Played the game for quite a while tonight

A very solid remaster so far , things still look very fresh even compare to the original FF12 running on emulators . The lightings look dramatically different(and better imho) beside the obvious texture upgrades .

Doesn't look like it does much for the PS4 pro though , FPS too is locked at 30 but very stable so far.

Love the new job system , one of my dislikes of the original game was everyone end up to be identical in skill builds towards the endgame . Now you can choose 2 unique jobs where you have way more to plan and give each character a unique purpose .

The trial mode from FF12 International make it in the game as well , so one more reason to play it if you haven't played the FF12IZDS ver. And remember those annoying condition to fulfill before you can summon the Espers  , they are now fully controllable 

Must-buy imo if you were a fan of the ff12.

i wonder will there be any DLC for remastered games...

Any dlc in the disc? If not I'll settle for R2 since price is cheaper.

Vann is going to have to fight with Balthier later in the game for Esper nodes
Vann should rightfully be Knight / Bushi ( Samurai )  He also has the most balance stats growth in the game , which makes him optimal for the best role.
Towards the endgame now , I can confidently say they are the most insane,  super powerful , almighty Tank / DPS/ Healer that can do everything .
They are no Jack of all trades, they are King of all trades

Male ( Genji Glove nominees )

Capable of Healing ( Very good at that )

Learn the highest tier of heal spells ( Curaja & Esuna ) and buff spells ( Faith & Bravery )

Can Use Katana ( Katanas are buffed in this game , The ultimate Katana - Kumbha is no longer a Katana , but a 1 hand sword except it retains the same dmg Formula as Katana . That means you can wear a Shield now when using the new, revamped version of Masamune , how do you like that 85% Combo rate ? )

Tanky ( Huge HP growth + Wearing the OP Shields , 80% Evasion )
Get him White Robe ( Increase all Holy output by 50%) + Excalibur later , since so many things are weak to holy Endgame, he is basically an unstoppable cheating machine that chop everything at 40k dmg / hit , the same as the cheating Seitegrate bow except he is much more capable .
