hi there, what is the consensus of Gigabyte gaming laptops ?
-Are they known to be well made?
-What about the matte ips screen ? is it as pretty as Ideapad 700 ?

Seriously considering the P55G V5.

any help greatly appreciated

Gigabyte P55G:

Pros:
72% NTSC AHVA IPS (Ideapd 700 is lower. Forgotten is 50% or 60%)
dual 2.5" Harddisk slot
Pre-load 8G DDR4 Memory
Intel 8260AC Wireless

Cons:
Yes single Fan. But it could be get rid by fan boost it

thanks babeh. it is appalling that no gaming notebook manufacturers ever thought of making a "battery dock" or something for extra battery power. it won't be so bad even if they make the battery removable

Yes. I'm using Gigabyte P34W V3 since 2015, it travel many countries with me and have been my workhorse over 2 Computex with mass video production.

It's also my mobile gaming rig (Core i7 4th gen, GTX 970M).

Sent to Tech Armory for servicing just a few months ago, now it's like brand new other than the cosmetic wear and tear.
