I seriously believe in taking a proper English course to be the most effective way to improve the language. This is probably not your option if you can't afford it. If you can, this is the fastest way.

Of course you need to look for a programme which is systematic and with effective teaching method.

The problem with self-study is that you don’t know your current language proficiency. How do you know what you need to improve and where to start? You will also receive no guidance on your mistake.

To all of you out there wanting to improve English or don’t care about English, DO NOT take English lightly. It could be one of the most important things that could affect your entire life.

I realised it after graduated from college and entering to the corporate world, if you want to be really outstanding and successful in the future, your English has to be tip top! That's the basic requirement.

Very simple, if your company is pitching for a big project, are you able to come up with a proposal which is flawless in English? When your proposal is shortlisted, are you able to do a good job in the presentation? In order for the audience to have a good impression on you, you have to speak flawless English, that’s also a basic requirement.

We have to think big and think far. We have to equip ourselves with the basic skills to handle big jobs ahead. We always want to be successful and be important, and always want to do big things. But are we ready for big thing? I really hope everyone doesn’t make the same mistake that I’ve made.

Ensure that your English has reached your 1st language level, brush up on your speaking and writing skills.
