You may check out both First Hobby @ Sg Wang or BOB Mid Valley as I have seen few sets of the 8293 there.

For myself, I already bought my 8883 + 88000 some time back but still keeping with my MISB Ferris Wheel  laugh.gif

Opss .. never saw this before and thanks for the share.
But seems like the wheel rotating quite fast, is it not? hmm.gif
Ya, realized that 8293 battery set can't fit nicely on the plate.
Only 88000 can. Well, I get what I'm paying tongue.gif

Friend from SG just informed me Metro selling for SGD56.
Sometimes got 20% discount maybe can consider asking him to get for me.

For those of you using detolf. Any advice on how to reduce dust from getting in?
*
QUOTE(hornetEJ @ Jul 23 2016, 06:52 PM)
I modified and combined two detolf into one big unit. Am satisfied with it. After I completed the arrangement of the display items, I used the cellophane tape to seal off the gaps. No dust until now smile.gif Happy with it!

I too tried fitting in my MF inside. But too wide can't fully fitted so scrap the whole idea putting in the Detolf.
Do update us on your finish mod after adding the cake collar.
Transparent collar right? smile.gif

you can buy those weather proof rubber strip that you can find in Daiso.
You just need to stick on the door panel side. But the hinges side, it's recommended that you stick without the door pre-installed. Those rubber strips are double sided tape and sold in a roll.

Its stated to use 8883 + 88000 as per the instruction.
http://brickset.com/sets/8293-1/Motor-Set
http://brickset.com/sets/8883-1/M-Motor

Both looks to be having the same M-motor I think?
*
QUOTE(stevenycs @ Jul 25 2016, 10:20 PM)
Yup, both written M-Motor which I presume meant "medium" torque or speed. as there's another one which is higher torque/speed i heard which will cause the wheel to turn too fast. just wanna confirm this. as mentioned i wanna save some moolah on buying separately 88000+8883 (as stated in the manual) but getting the set 8293 instead. thanks guys.  thumbup.gif
*
i just check back instruction for my fairground mixer, and it is same 8883 + 88000
but i use M motor from 8293 instead, and no problem at all...

i think should be the same for ferris wheel as well laugh.gif

from the instruction pictures, i can see there's gear reduction for motor, so M Motor should be no problem to turn the big wheel... even no problem for L Motor or XL Motor brows.gif

and it looks like quite easy to put big motor in from the hand crane part...

for the battery box, the 88000 is easy for u to put it in base, but basically it is same with the battery box from 8293... maybe the difference of AAA or AA battery and design/size but both can use with the M Motor or any other motor nicely...

for the battery box from 8293, have to put aside, which may look not so nice overall, or u can add some extra part to make it can put on base...

just found back my old picture of my fairground mixer
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

the RC part is just there for me to control the speed brows.gif

speaking of speed, there's one battery box, similar with 88000, but with speed control build in, so no need to use RC part like what i did...

BTW, normally like this should be a lot of technic sifu here post something tongue.gif
but now it seems only me sad.gif

Thanks a lot bro for the double confirmation. Then I will definitely get this set. Ya I know the 8293 battery box can't really fit nicely on the plate. But I get what I paid. So it's ok. As this set comes wit the two LEDs which can be added to the wheel underneath. Saw the video from SBrick with BT control which totally blows my mind away. But the price a bit steep for the Control module I think USD59.99 excl delivery. But the idea of having a BT control from my iPad/iPhone controlling the speed with the set inside my seal display box blows me away haha! Ok back to work.

Of you got the mixer too. 10000 over bricks not a bad buy.

You have the grand carrousel also? I heard review online that it's very delicate is it? Once completed you can't really move it that much or it will fall apart or something like that. Not sure if the review is right or not n
