correct me if wrong, bank rakyat is not actually a bank? because when i want to do fund transfer via maybank2u, i don't see BR in the drop down list.

meaning if i want to transfer funds to open a BR deposit account, i can't do it  online using eibft?

Placed FD at BR today.. The staff r very friendly.. Open a saving acc with RM10 without ATM card as I didn't bring banker cheque or cash, so need to open saving acc to do IBFT.. Else, u can straight open FD account

By the way, receive a towel as gift after open FD ..

Do with personal cheque, was ask to come back after 3 days to collect the cert.
First time placing FD in non-commercial bank. Feel a bit weird....

These procedures are plain silly. They could just terminate the fd if the cheque bounces. The certs are just pieces of paper. For online banking accounts like HLBB Mach, they dont even give you an FD cert.

Maybe non-commercial bank procedure is a bit out dated....

Anyone can set up online banking for BR if I didn't opt for ATM card.. Just got passbook..

I just place FD at BR Jln Pinang yesterday. Specifically asked to credit monthly interest but was also told cannot. The staff mentioned something like because this is a promo rate and my FD amount is less than RM50k.
And for the Internet banking thing, I also was told by branch staff that it cannot be done as I do not have ATM card. Minutes ago I called their hotline and the CS said will ask someone to provide me with temporary ID later today. Will see how it goes.

It depends on the banks. UOB do not need any cert (in fact no cert given), just IC and can withdraw from any of the branch.

Have not been paying attention on this as did not find it to be useful to me. Always go back to the same branch or do termination online for some banks. 

Bad news, the branch manager insisted that not available for promo rate.. Again, it is Jalan Pinang branch.. So, no choice for me..

Ya, but that the nearest branch I can go.. But good things for those who placed today is get extra 2 days interest since 29/7/17 fall on Saturday. (Untung only if no increase in OPR after this)

How about eGIA-i?  Eg put for 12months,  first 3 months at 3.75%. If 4th month onwards drop, so how? 4-12 months at lower rate?

o yes, the person that say he is trust worthy and bank accept his personal cheque. he never meet a bank that ask people to come back to collect fd cert, like bangkok bank? he should try bangkok bank and tell us.

personal cheque acceptance has been discussed before, where some bank or branch ask people to come back after clearance to get the cert. maybe uhnwi is different?
