I went to HLB with cheque, too. It was opened there and then on the spot. No need to go back to pick up the slip.
*
Thats suppose to be the way. Anyway, If for HLBB FDi, its only a print out for the FD and your bank in slip.

QUOTE(owodog91 @ Jul 28 2016, 03:28 PM)
I asked HL also ...but need new fund...I need to transfer out and in again ....
*
Just Rentas your money out to another of your current account and issue them a cheque on the spot. Thats what I did that day. Dont tell them I taught you this. tongue.gif

All this while I place FD with personal cheque. BR is my first encounter need to go back for cert....other banks straight away kaodim
*
These procedures are plain silly. They could just terminate the fd if the cheque bounces. The certs are just pieces of paper. For online banking accounts like HLBB Mach, they dont even give you an FD cert. laugh.gif

QUOTE(mamamia @ Jul 28 2016, 06:58 PM)
I've checked with the staff today, they mentioned this promo rate is not entitle for monthly interest crediting.. Only applicable for non promo rate.. I think after OPR cut, they become stringent.. I heard a conversation of a customer mentioning she was offered 4.4% earlier but she didn't take up the offer and ask whether she can still get it, the staff told her now promo rate, cannot get better rate anymore. No negotiation rate.
*
Yes, I confirmed over the counter with BR tellers at BR Hq last week. No monthly interest crediting even if you have an account.

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 28 2016, 08:04 PM)
Well, my FD cert showed the monthly interest for the 12 mth 4.38%.

Hate to have to show it as proof. Like last time have to paste here and there.  tongue.gif
*
Yes., maybe for previous promo. No more available for current promo.

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 28 2016, 08:11 PM)
Even for MBB, 1 branch issued FD cert on the same day, another asked me to collect it after 2 days. Both for personal cheque placement of FD. So even the same bank, diff branch diff procedure !  doh.gif

Your point is CORRECT:  rclxms.gif
They could just terminate the fd if the cheque bounces. The certs are just pieces of paper.
*
Maybe because you look like a crook? tongue.gif

Just joking ar bro.... dont angry ar! biggrin.gif

Any banks announce Aug promo yet ?
*
Only HLBBi 4.15% 6 months and BR 4.38% 12 months.

QUOTE(David3700 @ Jul 28 2016, 09:12 PM)
Holding the piece of paper gives people a sense of security.
I always prefer FD to have a slip, something like a personal achievement.... tongue.gif
*
The piece of fd cert can also be used to boost credit rating when applying for loans. Oops, maybe im revealing too much here. rolleyes.gif

What does it take to tell u it is NOT previous promo, but the current promo also has monthly interest. See the earlier post.

I look like a crook ? U sounded more like a troll. Please stop being a troll.  mad.gif  ranting.gif

Well well some people cant take a joke. Well it does explain why the banks dont trust you enough. I never had any issues issuing cheques and being asked to come back later for the cert.

Oh well, the troll now becomes angry.  devil.gif

I don't have to proof to u whether the bank trust me or not.  laugh.gif
*
It was a joke to begin with. U dont need to prove anything here and neither am I angry. Different teller from different branches could relay different information to customers. No biggy.

Troll? I think the biggest troll here would be the guy who posts on every thread to add to his post count without contributing any info in these threads. whistling.gif

Two other forummers also faced the same issue. Not only me. And I did ask over the counter in BR Jalan Tangsi. Are you really that dumb or thick headed? If you are so concerned, pm me so I can help ease your concerns.

aromachong may not have asked for monthly interest.  bangwall.gif

Like I said, there are both sides to a coin. Some did get monthly some didnt. I dont know why some people can be so thick headed but be that cowardly as well. Like I mentioned, if you are not happy with my statement, do pm me and I can 'clarify' and lets see.

Hi guys, would like to check, I was told HL Islamic 4.15% need to open account RM200, and after maturity I still need to have RM200 in the account to maintain it. Is that right?
*
If you already have an exisiting HLBB account, they will just open a HLBB I account for FD. I didnt pay anything to open a HLBB I account except for my fd placement.

Bad news, the branch manager insisted that not available for promo rate.. Again, it is Jalan Pinang branch.. So, no choice for me.. sad.gif
*
QUOTE(kit2 @ Jul 29 2016, 03:20 PM)
when i heard jalan pinang branch disallows, i avoid that branch like plague. in malaysia, bank staffs on the ground have the final say, despite what hq says.
*
Same info I got from Jalan Tangsi branch. Looks like different BR branches have different policies which really baffles me. How can a big financial institution like BR have different set of policies for different branches. rclxub.gif

So sandkoh, you have anything else to add ? yawn.gif

What he meant is in order to open HLB islamic account, need to deposit RM200. I was having the same treatment. Reason is for i-FD interest to credit in. I'm existing HLB account too.

Indirectly was lock the RM200 there. But the staff say can withdraw it out after a week.
*
That is why I mentioned, if you already have an existing savings account like Money Box, you need not open a new islamic saving accounts.

QUOTE(sandkoh @ Jul 30 2016, 08:34 AM)
now someone blame br for big company with differen policy in branches! doh.gif

o yes, the person that say he is trust worthy and bank accept his personal cheque. he never meet a bank that ask people to come back to collect fd cert, like bangkok bank? he should try bangkok bank and tell us.

personal cheque acceptance has been discussed before, where some bank or branch ask people to come back after clearance to get the cert. maybe uhnwi is different? hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(yygo @ Jul 30 2016, 08:42 AM)
kekeke, he now blame br? before adamant that no monthly interest for br current promo. laugh.gif keeps on arguing over tis point with bbgoat and drag out cheque acceptance issue. tongue.gif misquoted aromachong oso.
*
Talk about sore losers... shakehead.gif

You know the chinese saying, "fell unto the ground but still want to pick up some sand?".

A few forummers here also enquired and got the same reply from BR Jalan Tangsi regarding no monthly interests.

So, dont "troll" here anymore.

hello guys would like to ask my fd with hongleong intially was from  25Jan2016 till 25July2017 but i forgot about it and when i checked it got renew to 25Jan2016 to 25Jan2017 (6months, 3.1%)

will this affect my earlier placement rate which was 6months,4.5%
*
If you have a money box account, the interest from the matured fd would be in it already. The fd auto renews after it matures but with normal fd rate.
