Hi! Thanks for your reply. Can I reload 10 on Day 1 and buy umi 20/30 on Day 9? This way rm10 would last me for 40 days data use and I can finally slowly use up the leftover credits?

Hi all, I would like to check the strength of umobile 28 in Melaka town area. Is it strong enough? Pls provide speedtest if possible.

Further to that, umobile 28 offers 3gb and stated it is a high speed. May I know whether it is a full solid 3gb or it is divided to peak and off peak hours? High speed = 4g lte or 3g?

Highly appreciated!
*
U mobile 3G at melaka = maxis 3G at melaka
Speed is diff compare to maxis though
Y dun use hotlink and get 13GB+ like other ppl suggest above?
+4G speed - charges on calls and sms

For my situation, I would not be in Melaka too often and only back once in a while and I would need to use it once I enter Melaka, so the most suitable plan for me is the lowest postpaid plan with the sufficient data (I guess).
*
Then which telco u using and whr u will be mostly?

What do you mean speed is different?

Meaning the speed when on 3G using Maxis is a bit slower than Maxis 3G itself? Maybe lower bandwidth allocation?
*
At melaka, the traffic flow like this:

Maxis user --- Maxis site --- maxis RNC ---(1) maxis core network (2)----- internet
U Mobile user --- Maxis site ---- Maxis RNC ---(3) UM Core network (4)---- internet

Sometime Maxis user having slow speed ( due to 1 and 2 congest )
does not affect U Mobile user ( due to 3 and 4 not congest )

same goes to the other way.. smile.gif

Of course the 1st 2 paths might differ the speed la, just want to let people know the difference tongue.gif

Hi, I am currently on Digi prepaid. Initially plan to convert to Digi postpaid RM28 but it is now gone. So now looking at the Umobile Hero 28 plan.

(1) How is the internet speed for users in Melaka? What about network coverage?

(2) Is the internet speed LTE?

(3) If I change from Digi prepaid to Umobile postpaid, is there any option to use my prepaid credit to offset the bill?

(4) If I change from Digi prepaid to Umobile postpaid, can I retain my number?

Thanks guy. Plan suddenly go awry today  rclxub.gif
*
1) 3G only, and u will using maxis 3G sites, if there is maxis 3g signal, then u will get 3g signal for um
2) 3G only, no LTE for melaka as for today
3) no, credit at digi cant transfer to um
4) yes for sure

*
All utube quota will b inside video onz as long as ur video onz still got quota

I think the UM network is like this

U ---> PGW ---> SCG ( found it is youtube/any other video onz channel) ---> PGW (allocate 1.5mbps regardless the youtube quality) --- > youtube cache in UM switch room

U ---> PGW ---> SCG ( found it is not youtube) ---> PGW (allocate highest speed, eg 75mbps for LTE, 42mbps for 3G, 220kbps for edge) --- > internet

of coz the speed still depends on the path between U and PGW

100% is not capped based on quality, there is no server can know user watching which type of video except YT itself.
and for the UM youtube cache, it will store the youtube video as long as there is ONE UM user viewing it.

Same goes to DiGi (based on its investor presentation slides), not sure maxis celcom and TM

and FYI, if you dare to try, open daily motion, fbvideo, utube bla bla bla all video channel all together, your MAX speed will be 1.5mbps for ALL combined.
I am not 100% sure as i only try with dailymotion + youtube biggrin.gif

Question, the hero p98 plans with video-onz looks quite good.

But, does the unlimited video streaming still work if you use as hotspot or tether?

And, do you have to use official app (example youtube) or is it still unlimited if you use browser?

Loaded with data on P98 now I'm struggling to even pass the mid line of the quota.

Good job to Umobile for this awesome plan! Hope they improve the line quality though. Sometime, even with LTE on, it's hard to stream 720p videos.
*
UM limits user to have only 1.5mbps for video onz channel.
Hence you are not able/hardly to stream 720p video. 480p is the best for 1.5mbps speed. biggrin.gif
