Hi guys. Im having some issues with chrome on my s7e.
I realize it and now im pretty sure that some of my tabs are closed by itself.

No the browser didnt crash or anything - which used to be the case on my note 2.

Im used to open like 66 above tabs at one time. And close once ive read them. But like recently, even with like 30+ tabs open. When open it back the next day i know for sure some tabs are missing. If i check history itll be under closed tabs.

Its a bitch to go to history and check everytime.

Some say to fav the link but usually id like to read first before i do. And yes ill change to the stock browser but just checking if anyone else is having this issue.
*
Just curious. Do you press back to exit the app? Or just press the home button. Pretty sure if you press the back button it just goes back to how chrome was when it was launched. So yeah

Just curious. What is the model number of the S7 Edge that's in Malaysia?

Just took a look at Aussie pricing. lord and behold, i can pay 3 weeks of rent with that price.

Hi. Is there a way to automatically light up and show the edge feed notification when  there is a new incoming notification? Instead of manually swiping back and forth the side to activate it
*
There was a modified edge app for the S6 edge that does just as you say. But it required root. So not a lot of people installed it

Anyone can share his/her user's experience on the dual sim (sim + sim and not sim + SD) functions and operations of S7?
Is there any major difference with other dual sim smartphone, including Samsung's lower-end models?
Any unique features in S7's dual sim management?
Can we set up 2 different profiles for sim 1 and sim 2 and swap between the profiles/sims easily without rebooting the phone?
Any recommendation on good 3rd party app that allows the installation of 2 whatapps app and accounts, and what are the limitations of these 3rd party app?
Thanks.
*
I am now using Disa. An app that I fully endorse and recommend to anyone who is looking for 2 whatsapps on their phone.

For those who don't know. Disa works like a unified messenger app for SMS, FB messenger and WhatsApp and more to come in the future.

I am in constant contact with the development team of Disa. So, if you find any bugs or have any questions, feel free to ask me and i will take it up to the devs and have it fixed ASAP.

EDIT: added link here smile.gif

It's actually quite hard to install the curved Spigen Crystal HD without any issues. I would recommend to get from a professional installer and let him do it for you like our bro sakurazz here.
Is our data secure when using 3rd party apps like Parallel Space and Disa? At least with Samsung Knox, I can minimise the chance of my data being leaked to 3rd parties.
*
Disa runs a bypass through older WhatsApp servers that runs on lower firmware phones. While some might still say that it's not fully secure because of not up to date servers.

However, bear in mind that WhatsApp already launched P2P encryption. So no one can intercept any conversation. Not even WhatsApp can read it.

I still think dual edge screen is very gimmicky.
*
As much as I like seeing texts creeping out of the edge and the wow factor from friends, I f*cking hate the edges.

This my 18 hour first impressions on this phone

1. Unintentional touches on the edges. I probably accidentally touched the home button in chrome a few times while typing this.

2. Introduces glare on both sides. The purple/pink tint on the glare made me think that I had a defective screen.

3. With the extended edges, screen to body ratio increased by 4 or 6 percent, this is both a curse and a blessing.
(a) 1 being a bigger screen and
(b) I have less metal and glass to hold on to.

4. Battery life is surprisingly good with 6 hours SOT. Did 80% LTE and 20% WiFi with two SIMS. One local number and one number on Roaming.

5. Camera has noticeably lower DR compared to the Nexus 6P. Not sure it's the ISOCELL issue or just Samsung's slightly poorer implementation this year.

6. I feel that this phone gets hot faster than the Nexus 6P as this is a glass sandwich. As we all know, glass isn't exactly known to be a great heat radiator, unlike metal phones which act as a giant heatsink.

Anything else I miss out? AMA

Do you use a phone case? Issues 1, 3b & 6 can be improved if you were to use one. I use a Spigen slim case, doesn't affect the phone styling that much but definitely better holdability especially at the edges. You can get a much thicker case if you want more grip and protection for your phone.
*
Generally I'm not a fan of cases. And I bought a skin for the phone. So I'll be using a skin on the phone. But I did buy a case and screen protector from Sakurazz while waiting for my skins.

Also, I doubt putting on a case can improve its cooling.

The heat part I meant that the warmth is less noticeable if you use a case...
*
But then you're containing the heat but not actually radiating it out. Hahaha it's okay lah. I'm just nitpicking. Doubt I'll stay long on this phone too. Unless I have to.

I don't feel any heat on this phone except during charging time.

The heat build up is quite prominent around the camera module area. Maybe because I'm in winter now so I feel heat a lot easier hmm.gif

i'm interested to get matte black.. does it gave you some rubbery grip?
*
to be honest, no. hahah it's still quite slippery. But I want to do is prevent the f*cked up micro scratches on the back glass. Plus Black Onyx and Matte Black is gonna be sexy as hell. AND that it doesn't pick up fingerprints anymore.

It does quite little to increase grip. but if you're targeting for grip, I suggest you go for either leather or carbon fiber.

eh just realized mine black leather, not carbon black.. hahaha..
grip wize, better than glass.. but dont expect too much grip rolleyes.gif

leather is little bit better lah haha

QUOTE(teohjo @ Jun 27 2016, 02:15 PM)
yes.. i'm targeting for grip.. just worry the leather won't give me much grip as rubber material..
*
leather is good enough i suppose. Matte black doesnt give you the rubber texture bro. it's quite a lot like the smooth surface of the plasticky smooth mousepads, but obviously it's a little bit rougher than that.

Got my S7 Edge over the weekend. Review and questions below:-

1. Love the lack of bloatware as compared to previous Samsung Galaxy(s)
2. Took some underwater photos
3. Got a Goosperry clear skin cover
4. Got a tempered glass but the glue around the edges wasn't great so it kind of popped up a little at the bottom.
5. Changed to TPU (rubber) screen protector
6. Spigen case does not allow you to have screen protectors apparently. My TPu screen protector peeled off when I put it on
7. The back near the camera can be quite warm.
8. Speaker after getting dunked underwater is not still OK.
9. Battery life was not too bad so far.
Questions:-

1. Do those waterproof, dustproof, fully enclosed cases work?
2. What about wallet cases?
3. Does TPU (rubber) screen protectors help with impact?
4. Which case has the best raise edge from screen to protect it most? I saw one that protects around the button that should help with impact but I'm not sure.
5. I watched the Otterbox Defender / S* Edge Youtube video and it wasn't all that great. The dude's phone stopped working
6. Do those armour guard and defender type cases really work?
*
Exactly what i meant about the back getting warm. good review.

QUOTE(shockk @ Jun 27 2016, 02:17 PM)
For those of your getting DBrand skins, you all use the phone naked? Not scared fall and shatter both front and back glass panels?
*
I use all my phones naked. but recently, Im sponsored by Rhinoshield. I use all their products now biggrin.gif so its a skin + bumper combo.

QUOTE(teohjo @ Jun 27 2016, 02:18 PM)
you rooted to which ROM?
*
i didnt root my phone bro. I just installed the Good Lock app. one of the reason why i got the S7 edge in the first place.

QUOTE(yarusaru @ Jun 27 2016, 02:19 PM)
who rooted? whats the additional benefit?
*
when you root, it is easier to transfer app data from one phone to another smile.gif and thats all i use root for, and sometimes the good root apps too.

you cari makan bro..dont worry..android come long long way from barely few functions and develop to much more complex right now. i do use android before as power user..modified here and there..but now no more. Prefer to use something that work right out the box.

Having said that, I m gonna give another try. but first impression are not really that great..

let see if android can get me hook again  biggrin.gif
*
then might i add that you entered the wrong side of android perhaps? maybe you should have tried Nexus phones instead of Sammy's Lagwiz. If you have tried it, what made you go away from stock android itself and tried Touchwiz instead? Stock android a far better experience than touchwiz.

First battery rundown test to 50% after a couple of days of usage on my new S7 Edge IE.

Managed to hit 4.5 hours of Screen-On Time (SOT) and 9 hours Standby, with 50% battery juice remaining. Pretty impressed again.  rclxms.gif

As usual, extrapolating these results to a 0% battery level would mean that 9 hours SOT is very well within the capabilities of this amazing phone.

Thus, it seems that the latest firmware is just as good (if not better) than the very first firmware on my previous S7 Edge Onyx Black.

Usage wise is 50% WiFi, 50% LTE/3G, WhatsApp and Chrome used mainly, Average usage of camera, phone calls and other apps.
