Need help: getting things out of macbook!

Hi all..
I want to copy my things out of my macbook, bcoz its almost full and also i am thinking to move it into windows pc. What makes me headache is, to copy big files from mac, the external hd has to be formatted to apple format.. but then, cant transfer those files into windows if hd in apple format.. my things practically stucked in apple environment? Can anyone advise me how to do this.. thanks in advance |

format your HD as FAT so Windows can recognize it. hope this will help.

Like it or not, you have to have your external drive formatted to what mac requires. You have 2 options:
1. Export all current contents of your external hard drive to somewhere else, then format the external to exFAT. Then put all your stuff back in here. 2. Buy new external hard drive formatted for Mac. |

it might be a pain now, but try to format (involve copying back and forth from mac/PC) your external hdd into exFat.
easier for future compatibility between windows and Mac |

if in Windows, it don't allow you to paste a file (from ext hdd) larger than 4gb. this would be your Windows Partition issue.
nothing to do with your ext hdd |

paragon ntfs is your solution. In windows, to enable read/write your hard drive if it is formatted in JHFS+ then install paragon for windows in your PC. Vice versa if your Mac cant write to your NTFS external hard drive, install paragon for mac in your mac
