In actual, all "communications equipment" will need to be certified by SIRIM QAS before being allowed to be used in Malaysia.

Communications equipment means any communication network facilities or customer equipment which may include fixed and wireless equipment.

Make sure all your walkies talkies / mobile phone / other radio transmitter will have Sirim QAS certification/label. Sirim labels are either Class Assignment (license exempt) or Apparatus Assignment (license required).

Added on February 19, 2009, 11:25 ammeaning to say....

1) if you have a communication device that has class assignment SIRIM certification, you probably do not require any license....

2) if you have a communication device that has apparatus assignment SIRIM certification, you probably require a license (ie. amateur class A/B license issued by MCMC)

OR

3) if you have a communication device that has NO SIRIM certification. Don't bother on the licensing as YOU HAVE BROKEN the law in the first place!!
