What's the estimated selling price in M'sia?

as far as i know, there is no official distributor in Malaysia for YI 4k yet.

but based on conversation with yi camera singapore, there are launching pre-order on JUNE 2016, singapore pricing will b announce soon

The price maybe a bit pricey
But we will see.

base on this site title - does it mean the V1 users are now ignored and should start a new group too? .. Otherwise best to do the necessary changes to avoid confusion.

This will be my replacement for my vintage Nikon S3000, is the battery removable though?

this is a different action camera than the previous one , that v1 is for Xiao yi action camera (first generation),
this v1 is for discussion on Xiao yi 4k action camera,

its two different camera.

the official price for pre-order in US site is $269, which convert directly is RM11xx,
then you have to add the other cost then probably more than RM12xx.
there is no official distributor or pricing for Malaysia market yet.

but then, this 4k version is very diff than yicam1, the specs is higher than gopro hero4. and EIS FTW!

For the camera itself. An overview.

if the Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) works as stated i might consider this. no need to buy a gimbal anymore. My other consideration is Olympus Stylus Tough TG-Tracker (more features i.e Electronic 5-axis image stabilization). Waiting for review for both cam

I think u referring to the one he testing the yi4k on remote control car.

hmm. I think normal usage with selfie stick without that much vibration (unlike mounting on the remote control car) wont have so much jitter.

edit: I rewatch the vids. seems like the jitter happening during handheld as well.
have to watch others reviews to decide further, hope this is fixed with firmware updates soon

hmm.. maybe i skip thus, as normal yicam already good enough for me...
planning to buy mi drone...

The first yi is only around RM200+, this is much pricier. But among the advantages include image stabilization, better battery and an external screen.

this one is almost 1k. for the touch screen , stabilizer, and the best sensor available now in market.
but if u compare gopro hero4 black. this still worth the money better than gopro offering

Hope the rest of my Yi accessories can be used with this, yeah it is worth the price if compare to GoPro

Hi all, I'm one of the person who pre ordered with Dfaro at lazada and got 10% discount using bank cc card

And I want to expand my inventory by pairing with Feiyu Gimbal

So I check YouTube google and etc etc no one has answer and decide to check with Feiyu Directly.

And I got the answer!

FEIYU recommend any Yi 4k users to use their G4 series only, and add on xiao Yi v1 mounting plate(due to both of them same size measured at height 42mm)

can this seller be trusted? And what about warranty? Will it be troublesome. Thought of getting a SG version, but it is much more expensive.

dasher quite reliable, alot ppl bought xiaoyi 1st gen from him. warranty should be from the shop itself.

SG version if convert to RM for sure more expensive. no choice.

3rd party casing?
just bkful, previous 3rd party casing for first gen xiaoyi action camera have leaking problem when diving.
but normal swimming,snorkeling,play water shouldn't be a problem.

That's why I ask my friend to test first
He is a professional underwater photographer. I think he bought 5 or 6 pcs YI2 to do 3D underwater.

a short review on yi4k build n appearance


it feel more like a metallic paint on the camera than just plastic feeling.


the touch screen is very responsive, just light touch will do.


there is a very little delay on the actual live image capture on the screen, but it's negligible.



the usb and battery/micro sd compartment build are more solid than previous gen.
the battery/micro sd compartment is a flip open style door rather than to remove the whole thing.


there is only 1 button on top which act as a shutter button and on/off switch.

overall, the build is more solid and metal feeling in this gen yi4k, alot better than first gen which feels like a toy

overall. very sturdy and solid build.
i would buy this over hero4, in term of specs, yi4k win hero4, eventhou hero4 have more pro setting function than yi4k, but for normal user i dont use so many function.
the digital image stabilizer is quite good in my initial test

i haven have time to test more yet. lol but i will recommend u to buy yi4k lo.

maybe if u dont do much video editing and stabilise editing, then yi4k is for u
just turn on n shoot, then be satisfied by the video. that's it.

Yi4k is the best action camera around. Period.

the normal yi sports. which is first gen xiaoyi camera still the best budget action camera around compare to other options at that price point, even better than gopro hero3

if ur budget allows, then better go for yi4k (2nd gen xiaoyi camera)
yi4k is suitable for novice user, noneed much advance setting configuration blablabla, the apps is quite user friendly and simple to use as well.
