So whatever is best the solar tint vlt which comes with the Sorento?
VLT refers to Visible Light Transmission. It means how much light can penetrate the windows. Usually, VLT is NOT a measurement of quality of the tint because it is about the brightness , hence there is no BEST VLT. In fact, some prefer darker shades tinting for the sporty/glamour look, but one should always follow the JPJ ruling as suggested in my earlier post, and not go overboard.
For tinting, the parameter that is most important is the IRR % (Infra red Rejection) and TSER % (Total Solar Energy Rejected) and BTU (Basic Thermal Unit) which determines the amount of heat that enters the cabin thru the windows.
The other is of course the thickness (2,4,6,8 mil)which is a security feature that is shatter resistance, thus prevents of theft of items inside the car, and in the case of window breakage, minimizes the risk of injury to the occupant from the shattered pieces of broken glasses.
