Hi,

I'd like to find out which phone has better speakers(without earphones) for music playback.

Better as in:

- Max volume without distortion
- Just specifically for music playback
- Equalizer effects, MEGABASS, etc doesnt matter.
- Sound quality in terms of clarity.
- Just the external speaker performance, without using earphones

[I actually have the K800 in mind, but I would really love a nice speaker so that I can share my music with others]

I'd appreciate it if you guys could give me your opinions, especially those who've had experience with either or both phones.

Thanx alot ya

w850 if want music
k800 if wan photo quality
but with w850 you can take nice photo as well
no worry as i took few with nice quality and no AF
so AF actually not a big issue as long as steady hand

to TS's question, which states more on audio over photo, I recommend Walkman phone. k800 lack of mega bass, which greatly limit it's sound quality.

It's not a limitation, just buy a HPM-70 earphones for it, remove the original earphones and use a pair of quality earphones to get more oompphh .... for a start Creative's EP630 is a good match for K800i. The lack of megabass is not an issue, you can use the EQ to fine tune the sound. smile.gif By the way, I personally own a K800i so I'm not talking crap here, just an honest review on my phone, I have used a W800i before. smile.gif

yea, actually mega bass don't really make the sound of the song nicer. also why do people always compare w850 and k800? it's like comparing a range rover to a ferrari....both are good cars, but for different functions

If you're using better earphones, then you can switch off the megabass, the original HPM-70 earphones lack of bass, that's why they used megabass to boost the bass response. For better earphones, with the megabass on, the sound will be very boomy and distorted. doh.gif

Guys,

Thank you for all your comments.

I'm quite aware of the fact that the K-Series are camera biased and the W-Series are more music biased.

But my question actually concerns the speakers of both phones (without using earphones);

[I actually have the K800 in mind, but I would really love a nice speaker so that I can share my music with others]

Is there any significant difference between the two of these phones?

In terms of just the music being played using the phone speakers.

Thanx alot ya....

When in uni computer lab, i on music on my k800i, put in on my desk as i do my report. Reasonably ok. Don't expect quality u get from a superb surround system or something. It is slightly above average. for sharing purposes, and listening, its ok. I often to it with my friends, listen to some latest songs together about 6 of us. But note, dun expect to use it for like a party!
