Hi guys, For the past 2 months, I've encountered 3 occurrence where my Windows 10 auto update itself without prompting me to do so....these are major updates lasting 3-6 hours each time... I can't work now cos of this updates and I don't know how long it will take to finish the updates... Is there a way to force the updating process to prompt me first or at least schedule the updates in the middle of the night? This is seriously affecting my productivity.... Attached thumbnail(s)

Oic, thank you very much!
Does your updates also take so long like this? 4 to 6 hours? This is normal?

After 4 hours ++ now it says, restoring to previous version of Windows.... And I think this happened once 2 weeks ago too while it was updating to about 86%.... How to solve this? Attached thumbnail(s)

Yup, mine was an upgrade from Win 7.
Whaddaya mean by conventional HDD? I'm on a Lenovo notebook and not on SSD if that's what u mean...
Had wanted to do a clean install but nowadays these notebooks come preinstalled with Windows and they don't give installation discs and drivers,etc... So if I clean install and it couldn't find drivers for the onboard stuff like Intel chipset, LAN/Wifi/bluetooth, graphic card etc, it's gonna be hellish trying to recover everything
And yes, it does take 4-6 hours to update/upgrade just like the screenshot...
