Hi! Anyone using Kodi with a VPN? I just signed up with Private Internet Access VPN and the speed is horrible! Tried a few different servers and it's either laggy or keeps buffering. Only good thing is that it allows me to access geo-blocked sites.

You on Trial or already paid in full ?Should use one which allows you trial period first before committing. Btw, most Kodi links don't require VPN. |

QUOTE(Ngto @ Jun 27 2016, 11:19 AM) Don't use one. You on Trial or already paid in full ? Thanks... I can always ask for refund within the first week if I am not satisfied. Like I said, it allows access to addons which are geo-blocked (like VEVO, or Netflix, Hulu etc)... but streaming is unbearable now. T_TShould use one which allows you trial period first before committing. Btw, most Kodi links don't require VPN. Edited typo error from can't to can. -.-" This post has been edited by bigbear: Jun 27 2016, 12:09 PM |

T_T as said, kodi does not require any VPN.Edited typo error from can't to can. -.-" so VPN is irrelevant to this Kodi thread. but you can start a new thread on VPN's as i don't see one yet. some have reported great success with paid VPN or DNS for other apps. i tried a couple of free ones - basically useless. Hey, which specific service(s) within Kodi requires you to use a VPN? Cuz the likes of Vevo, Hulu & Netflix can generally be accessed through a DNS service, which allows up to full streaming speed... Unlike a VPN server. |

QUOTE(eXTaTine @ Jun 27 2016, 06:40 PM) depend tho. my workplace blocks nearly all traffic of this kind, but if I enable the VPN, I can bypass their blocking software and stream away.. so it thus useful but not necessarily, especially if u wanna stream at home |

Are you trying to get yourself fired? |

There are limits to how much we can publicly discuss about such matters here on lowyat forums...As for "bad" quality.. Well, can't win all battles.. Else, stick to thy Astro subscription.. That's why they charge the big bucks.. |

There are better quality streams available, even up till 1080p.. It's merely a matter of the source.. Find the right sources, reap the rewards.. However, with such good ones, it's a constant game of cats & mice. |

Can Kodi play back full bluray rips with menus? If it can't, any other Android app can do it? I'm using a Minix U1.
