Are you guys for real? I thought if you did not attend any of the exams, you get 'X'?

I would say that the band you obtain is highly dependent on the examiner.

Happened to me in real life.
There were only a few guys who attained Band 5 in batch 1, while a lot of my friends got Band 1 and 2.
The same guys who failed in the previous batch went on the next batch, and got Band 4 and 5. lel

I got band 5 yesterday. Aww yis! But mostly because can graduate as my uni requirements is at least band 2.. And based of the recent March 2016 exam which I attended I believe the difficulty has dropped as opposed to the recent years.

But yea it's nothing much to brag about since life after school is more on "soft skills".

MUET in the old days is easier cuz got summary question instead of pie/graph bullchit in which you need to know the format

Exactly the reason why I left Taylor's College (yes, before they changed names) to study in New Zealand.
Dopey examiners back in Malaysia didn't even return your assignments, just give marks in a lackadaisical manner.
Remember, the people who jilat get ahead ... they will be the future bosses and employers in Malaysia.
Those are the people complaining about graduates ... the first corrupt seeders.
