Plan to diy but before that I need to make sure 1 thing, since this is my 1st se phone. One of my friend which using k750 told me that when updating the se phone firmware online, if unfortunately your internet connection get disconnected, you will have to say bye bye to your phone. Is that true?

Now charging via the docking station. I notice the message of unlocking keypad keep appearing and the phone seem like wont go to standby mode as the screen backlight is on at a very dim lighting

Well I got no idea how your p990i behave but I got no such problem even before I do any firmware update, as I also havent check it yet. I try some word editting and already had couples of word file inside. Nothing restart or what so ever. Wifi can be detect and quite ok. This morning stream bout 2 hours radio and battery life drop down to around 78%, in which I think is normal. Just that the radio reception is kinda weak, compare to my n95. The improve camera on the upcoming P1 is pretty useless to since I got something better to play with. Also you wont know how stable will the P1 is especially its not even launch. Well I would say different people different needs.

As from the screen shot I saw in renee's sales thread, the 1 she selling should be the world generic set, which only support english. I think for those which need chinese support, either you get a singopore generic set like what I had, or flash/ edit your firmware/cda to the region which had chinese language support.

I think it really depend on one usage. With regular use like sms and calls, some bt and light wifi, my set can stand me around 2 days without recharging. 1 thing I dislike most is the radio as its sound output is really too damm weak and when compare to my n95, the signal is just too weak even compare to some of my old nokia phone with build in radio.

No idea with p990i as I not using pouch for it now, just using a cystal case. But I had similar experience where my n95 react to the magnet from the pouch I guess, where my n95 screen will auto turn to wide screen mode sometimes when the screen is facing the magnet part of the pouch

Well from my experience the p990i output from headset is very soft, even I had max out the volume in radio mode and media player mode, comparing to my n95 which I only need to put volume to around 70% only. After the firmware update, speaker sound did become louder but not the 1 from headset. And the radio reception and signal is kinda weak as even compare with some of my lousy nokia phone, such as 6020.

Looks like the p990i users is increasing rapidly due to the low price lately.

Not too sure as I just ask for the p990 crystal case and this is the one I receive via pos. Also from the photo from the previous page, I dont find it very useful just to protect that tiny edge part of the keypad.

Aint quite correct as I got my ap set in the 1st week of may for rm1175, which happen to be a singapore set and already updated the firmware to the latest R9F version without any problem and definitely no branding issue of the phone

PS: I notice the screen of p990 dont have the auto focus frame like my n95 when accessing the camera. Is that normal?

Actually those case is freaking cheap 1. Lowyat there got 1 distributor of this kinda accesories and I went to check the price, most casing cost less than rm1 and max also wont be more than rm2. But they wont allow end user to purchase and only for retailer and etc. Like the n95 casing I ask around lowyat 1 piece cheap plastic want to sell rm15 and their purchasing price is only 80 cents therefore I rather pay rm5 to purchase through forum
